You’ll partner closely with the VP of Finance and cross-functional teams to support informed decision-making and continued business growth.\nIf you bring strong accounting expertise, leadership capability, and a passion for operational excellence, we’d love to hear from you.\nAccounting Manager\nDepartment: Finance\nReports To: VP of Finance\n FLSA Status: Exempt (Salaried)\nLocation: Perrysburg, Ohio\nSchedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.\n Working Arrangements: Onsite, Eligible for Hybrid (4 onsite / 1 offsite) after 6 months of employment, manager approval required. \nPrimary Objectives\nManage and oversee daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Project Billing, Cash Management, and General Ledger activity.\nLead and execute the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial results.\nProvide experienced accounting leadership to monitor departmental activity and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.\nKey Areas of Responsibility\nAccounting Operations & Leadership\nOversee and manage the Accounting Department team, including workload prioritization, performance management, and professional development.\nServe as a hands-on accounting resource to support daily transaction processing and issue resolution across AP, AR, and billing functions.\nProvide backup support for accounting team members and assist the VP of Finance as needed.\nMonth-End Close & Financial Reporting\nLead the monthly and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.\nPrepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy of cash, receivables, payables, fixed assets, and project-related accounts.\nAssist the VP of Finance with month-end income statement review, variance analysis, and financial insights.\nPrepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports, analyzing trends and variances to support management decision-making.\nNetSuite ERP & Systems\nUtilize and maintain the NetSuite ERP system to support general ledger, billing, vendor rebates, and financial reporting activities.\nManage monthly reconciliation of NetSuite vendor bills to buying group portals for vendor rebate tracking and accuracy.\nIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and system utilization within NetSuite.\nConstruction Project Billing & Revenue Recognition\nOversee construction project billing accounting specialist, ensuring accurate invoicing, job cost tracking, and timely revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP.\nMonitor project-related accounts, including work-in-progress, retainage, and contract billings.\nPartner with operations and sales teams to resolve project billing issues and support cash flow objectives.\nCash Management & Controls\nMonitor daily bank activity, including ACH and wire transactions, and ensure real-time reconciliation of cash accounts.\nMaintain strong cash flow controls and ensure proper application of customer payments.\nMaintain and audit the company’s fixed asset schedule on an ongoing and annual basis.\nInternal Controls, Compliance & Audit\nDevelop, implement, and maintain effective accounting policies and internal controls.\nEnsure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable financial regulations.\nAssist with audit preparation and respond to audit inquiries as needed.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.\n5+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated hands-on responsibility for month-end close and financial reporting.\nPrior experience supervising or leading accounting staff.\nStrong working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.\nNetSuite (preferred) or equivalent ERP system experience.\nConstruction or project-based billing experience.\nAdvanced Excel and financial analysis skills.\nCore Competencies\nSeasoned overall accounting knowledge with the ability to monitor daily activity and independently manage the close process\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills\nEffective leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills\nHigh level of integrity and ability to manage confidential information\nBenefits\nBurkett Restaurant Equipment & Supplies is a leader in the distribution of new and used restaurant equipment.
