If you enjoy working independently and as part of a team, we’d love to hear from you!\nTo learn more about careers at Burkett please visit: https://www.burkett.com/careers\nJob Title: General Service Technician\nPrimary Objective: To assist a growing Service Department in the reconditioning of commercial kitchen equipment to achieve service targets including quality and productivity targets.\nPrimary Functions: This position is responsible for producing high quality products for the Burkett Used / Reconditioned product line, assist our lead technicians in equipment repairs, to fill in for our equipment cleaner, to perform paint prep, and equipment/product movement on an as needed basis.\nReports To: Service Manager\nScheduled Hours: 40 hours per week / Mon-Fri / 8:00am-4:30pm\nFLSA Status: Hourly\nKey Areas of Responsibility\nMovement of equipment per department and technician needs utilizing fork lift and/or pallet jacks\nWork alongside Lead technicians in the department to assist them in equipment troubleshooting and repair\nElectrically, mechanically, and cosmetically diagnose and repair all commercial stainless/cooking/mechanical/refrigeration equipment according to production targets \nResearch and request necessary parts according to manufacturer specs or as required by basic mechanical guidelines \nTest all equipment in a timely, efficient manner and communicate any equipment that presents risk to internal or customer facing quality targets \nComplete product diagnosis and disposition for damaged items in support of freight claims \nCheck operations and visually inspect all used items in our Quality Control area daily \nWork with and as a backup to our equipment cleaner on a as needed basis \nDisassemble equipment to ensure thorough cleaning of all components\nReassemble equipment to be delivered into service, i.e. legs, casters, doors, etc.\nPower wash used equipment when needed during the reconditioning process\nClean and maintain the cleaning room at the end of each day\nComplete any ongoing training to maintain OSHA compliance \nOther duties as assigned related to continuous improvement of service department processes\nField service will be required occasionally. A majority of the work will be in house but going out into the field will be required based on company needs.\nRequirements\nSelf-motivated and well organized\nBasic troubleshooting abilities are a plus \nBasic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities \nAbility to communicate effectively and professionally \nSelf-motivated with ability to work independently to achieve daily schedule\nAbility to learn, adapt, change, and remain flexible\nDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills\nKnowledge of basic material handling equipment and tools\nAbility to function as part of the team and assist other technicians when necessary\nExcellent computer experience working with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word\nAbility to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally \nEquipment Needed\nBasic hand and power tools \nTesting instruments (some items are company provided) \nEducation and Experience\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nValid Driver’s license is required\n10-Hour OSHA Training and HAZCOM Training.
