Complete month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and audits of related accounts. Oversee testing and implementation of modifications to accounts payable systems; provide coordination with internal and external auditors for periodic reviews and SOX compliance; support all corporate, store and vendor process improvements and initiatives, develop, prepare and present all monthly reporting deliverables, including the Monthly Operating Reports, Key Performance indicators and other reporting as defined, provide deliverables for quarterly and annual financial statement audits, as well as other special projects as determined. Ensure timely and accurate Vendor master file maintenance, including oversight of vendor set up process and ongoing maintenance\nA Day in the Life\nOverall responsibility and guidance for all accounts payable functions and departmental personnel, in all aspects of Merchandise and Expense accounts payable including preparation and filing of required reports and payments to all vendors, organizations, and employees; as well as assigning and prioritizing tasks as defined in conjunction with the Department’s Senior Management team.\nAnalyzes data to determine trends and forecasts to assist in Company strategic planning and communicates such information to senior management.\nDevelop and direct process improvement initiatives and monitoring controls within functional area. Escalate and resolve issues proactively.\nDetermining the department’s strategic objectives and policies\nDevelops, prepares and reviews all monthly reporting deliverables for management use.\nManages monthly closing of financial records and postings.\nDevelops implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies around accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.\nDevelop and maintain partner relationships with vendor community, business units and corporate stakeholders.\nEffective mentoring and hiring of support staff and ensuring training, development and advancement of personnel\nYou'll Come With\nEducation and Qualifications:\nEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance\nExperience: Work Experience: 8 - 10 years of accounts payable related experience, including 4 - 5 years management experience - retail experience preferred but not required\nSkills and Abilities:\nDemonstrated knowledge of accounts payable operations with large ERP AP system experience, as well as understanding of business, accounting and accounts payable policies\nAbility to effectively communicate with management, peers and external parties\nAbility to lead a team towards a common goal\nRespected leader, with a quantifiable track record of success in delivering results within a large complex organization\nExcellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills\nAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously\nAbility to work within deadlines and utilize resources to meet those deadlines\nAbility to determine staffing needs and hire appropriate resources\nAbility to work with associates at all levels within the organization\nUnderstanding of business, accounting and accounts payable policies\nStrong understanding of common and unique business process and seasonal trends\nAbility to take direction and implement changes\nAbility to adapt to changing business environment\nUnderstanding of and adherence to control procedures\nProficiency in MS Office Suite, Oracle 11i and/or Oracle Purchasing, Micro Strategy and other reporting tools\nCome join our team.
