This position requires advanced technical expertise in reading, interpreting, and modifying electrical schematics, diagnosing equipment issues, and providing exceptional customer service. The Controls Technician works independently to ensure equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and accurate service documentation while maintaining company tools and equipment.\nThis is a full-time, hourly position. Hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM; Saturdays as needed\nEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nInstall, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain electrical control systems, burner controls, boiler controls, combustion equipment, and related systems.\nRead, interpret, modify, and troubleshoot electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.\nDiagnose equipment malfunctions and implement timely and effective corrective actions.\nEnsure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations, policies, and procedures.\nComplete repair and service orders accurately and within established deadlines.\nMaintain a high level of customer satisfaction through professional and responsive service.\nCommunicate technical findings and equipment recommendations clearly to customers and management.\nProvide customers with instruction and guidance regarding the proper operation and maintenance of installed equipment.\nDocument labor hours, materials used, service details, and job costs accurately on work orders and time records.\nAssist management with technical support, project coordination, and operational initiatives as needed.\nPromote company services and identify opportunities to provide additional value to customers.\nProperly handle and dispose of waste materials, scrap, and byproducts in accordance with environmental and safety requirements.\nRequisition supplies, equipment, and materials needed to complete assigned work.\nParticipate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency service requests as required.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nEnsure all materials and equipment used on service calls are properly accounted for and charged.\nParticipate in ongoing training programs to maintain technical proficiency and stay current with industry developments.\nMaintain company-owned vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory in accordance with company policies and manufacturer recommendations.\nAvailability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency service calls as required.\nRequirements:\nEducation and/or Experience\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nExperience using AutoCAD\nAssociate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Controls Technology, or a related field preferred.\nMinimum of five (5) years of experience working with electrical controls systems, combustion equipment, boiler controls, burner management systems, or a related technical field.\nStrong working knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, control circuits, instrumentation, and industrial equipment.\nExperience servicing commercial and industrial customers preferred.\nValid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required per company policy.\nAbility to obtain security clearances necessary to work in schools, state facilities, federal facilities, and other secured customer locations.\nPhysical Demands:\nWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and use hands to handle tools and equipment. The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with assistance. The position requires working in confined spaces, mechanical rooms, rooftops, and other industrial environments. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.\nWork Environment:\nThe work environment includes commercial, industrial, institutional, educational, and government facilities. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, varying temperatures, noise, dust, fumes, and outdoor weather conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
