U.S. Boiler Company is a subsidiary of Burnham Holdings, Inc.\nWe are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team!This is locally based position in Lancaster, PA that requires employees to be on site full-time. Please note this position does not offer or include any relocation package.\nThis position will support, specify, and control the processes that the manufacturing operation relies on daily to satisfy customer demand and obtain the performance objectives set forth pertaining to: 1) Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost/Value, and 2) the continuous improvement program. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial engineering and/or processing engineering.\nEssential duties and responsibilities:\nTo perform the job successfully, an individual will be asked to work on all of the following subjects. Other duties may be assigned.\nRecommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, line balancing, relocating workstations and equipment and purchase of equipment.\nRecommend Manufacturing Process Improvement opportunities for plant operations including the best uses of automation to improve the business.\nDesign and implement processes and measures to improve workplace safety, production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.\nControl and sustain process designs to ensure sustainable and reliable results pertaining to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost/Value.\nLead improvement teams to develop and implement manufacturing/business process improvements.\nDevelop effective problem resolution plans using logical root-cause analysis techniques.\nCreate value stream mapping documentation for assembly plant operations.\nEstablish and maintain manufacturing process FMEA’s to prioritize corrective actions and ensure a robust process.\nEstablish and maintain manufacturing procedures to ensure consistent execution of operational tasks.\nEstablish and maintain standard work instructions to ensure consistent execution of workforce labor tasks.\nEstablish time studies and analyze work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.\nSuggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew.\nDevelop capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve safety, quality, cost, and cycle times.\nAnalyze work force utilization, facility layout and operational data including production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.\nCompetencies\nTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:\nOrganizational support - Follows policies and procedures; completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports organization’s goals and values; benefits organization through outside activities; supports affirmative action and respects diversity.\nJudgment - Displays willingness to make decisions; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions; includes appropriate people in decision making process; makes timely decisions.\nQuality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality.\nQuantity - Meets productivity standards; completes work in timely manner; strives to increase productivity; works quickly.\nSafety & Security - Observes safety & security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.\nAdaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.\nAttendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings & appointments on time.\nDependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.\nQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEducation and/or Experience\nBachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; 2 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nPrefer individual that can function independently and collaboratively.\nPrefer strong process improvement experience with cost reduction, continuous flow, assembly operations, and sheet metal operations.\nPosition will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, with ME responsibility of residential final boiler assembly operations, cast iron block assembly operations, cast iron machining operations, subassembly/carton packing operations, radiation manufacturing operations, parts fulfillment operations and warehouse operations.\nComputer literate with good communication skills.\nLanguage Skills\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.\nMathematical skills\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.\nReasoning Ability\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
