This position will supervise and coordinate union-hourly workers engaged in the manufacturing of parts or products, in addition to verifying conformance to quality standards. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and experienced in the manufacturing field. Supervisory experience preferred.\nThis is a full-time, day shift position located in Lancaster, PA. Must be able to work overtime and occasional Saturdays.\nEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nDirectly supervises employees according to company policies and procedures, including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems\nComputes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage are\nInterfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met\nDirects workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards\nEstablishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules\nDevelops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products\nSuggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew\nAnalyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems\nMaintains time and production records\nEstimates, requisitions, and inspects materials\nPrimary supervision responsibility for receiving and shipping functions of the plant\nAdjust inventory discrepancies as necessary after investigation. Assist with corrective actions to prevent it in the future\nUpdate interested parties to the status of work and transfer orders as necessary\nExpedite orders or alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions\nCoordinate with purchasing to expedite and procure materials as plans change\nBackflush work orders for assigned production such as Rad and carton pack\nManage transfer and work orders for assigned transfer parts\nManage firm planned orders/purchase orders for assigned purchase parts\nAssist in planning and execution of annual physical inventory\nSecondary Responsibilities:\nInterprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders, and assigns duties. Confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards\nRecommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability\nReceives Transfer and purchase orders and resolves all discrepancies on a timely basis. Mark material to designated bin locations\nOversight and execution of service parts and maintains bin locations\nOversight of obsolete material and disposition\nCoordinates material moves between manufacturing facility and warehouse to ensure timely delivery of repair parts\nProcess material receivers for all material received at the warehouse\nSchedule and backflush work orders for assigned production parts\nQualifications/Requirements:\nOne year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nExperience with hand and power tools\nOne year of supervisory experience preferred\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
