Willingness to escalate known or suspected problems until satisfactory resolution is received.\n\nEssential Functions/Key Responsibilities:\nThe service and repair of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies based on written procedures and and/or technician’s knowledge.\nEvaluation of customer parts to determine repairs required to refurbish parts to Burroughs’ standard.\nImplement and test repair of customer parts.\nConsistent, superior work quality with limited supervision required.\nTime management.\nAssist with continuing process and quality improvement in all jobs.\nAccurate input of information required by the Repair System.\nMaintenance of personal work station and any other workstation used in the course of completing a Work Order for repair or assembly.\nWillingness to provide assistance in Shop as required.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nGood verbal communication skills.\nFast ability to understand the product and differing customer requirements.\nStrong electronic schematic and mechanical drawing reading skills.\nElectronic and mechanical measurement instrument skills. (DMM, oscilloscope, calipers, micrometer, indicator).\nGood computer software skills. (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.\nKnowledge of mechanisms and how they function (e.g., belts, rollers, gears, pulleys)\nStrong knowledge of electronic circuits and devices (e.g., components, semiconductors, ICs, sensors, motors, solenoids).\nStrong PCB soldering skills, including surface mount soldering.\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh School Degree or equivalent.\nElectronics School Degree (desired).\nAt least 2 years experience working in a production/repair setting.\n\nPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear.\nThe employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
