Position Overview
This research assistant is a grant-funded position to support a recently awarded research grant from the LEAP program of the Burroughs-Wellcome Foundation. This research assistant will work full-time in the organic chemistry laboratory performing organic synthesis and characterization.
Responsibilities
- Synthesize new fluorogenic ester substrates
- Prepare starting materials for fluorogenic ester synthesis
- Perform full chemical characterization of all compounds
- Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook
- Update chemical inventory
- Ship final products to collaborators for biological testing
- Maintain a clean laboratory space
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field required
- At least (2) years of previous research experience

Preferred experience in synthetic organic chemistry, chemical biology, and/or NMR
