We will be manufacturing for plant engineering and cryogenic piping systems here in the near future.\nPosition Summary\nDepartment: Operations\nReports To: Operations Manager\nLocation: Loxley, Alabama, USA\nFLSA Status: Non-Exempt\nJob Type: Full-Time\nShift: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (overtime as needed)\nThe Machine Operator is responsible for the setup, programming, operation, and optimization of CNC machining and tube laser cutting equipment used to produce precision stainless steel components. Working alongside a collaborative production team, the machine operator handles demanding projects with the aim of consistently meeting the standards of BUTTING and our customers and manufacturing high-quality products.\nThe ideal candidate is a multi-skilled manufacturing expert wirth strong mechanical aptitude, computer proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of assigned equipment and production results.\nResponsibilities\nOperate and monitor CNC machining and tube laser cutting systems\nPrepare jobs based on drawings, work orders, specifications, and production schedules\nSet up machines, tooling, programs, offsets, and perform pre-production checks\nInspect parts throughout production using precision measuring tools\nMaintain accurate production, quality, downtime, scrap, and maintenance records\nIdentify and suggest improvements to machine programs, tooling, work methods, material use, safety, quality, and production efficiency\nPerform routine maintenance, cleaning, inspections, and consumable changes\nEnsure machines and work areas remain clean, organized, and production-ready\nQualifications\nAt least two years of practical experience setting up and operating CNC machine tools\nTechnical vocational training or equivalent practical experience in machining and CNC operation\nHigh school diploma (or equivalent qualification) required\nExperience with laser cutting systems as well as CAD/CAM, nesting, or machine programming software desirable\nAbility to read complex technical drawings\nProficiency in the use of measuring instruments\nExperience operating forklifts or handling materials\nStrong technical aptitude\nBasic computer skills (ERP systems and MS Office)\nStrong communication and teamwork skills\nKnowledge of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety standards, as well as knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and quality management systems\nBenefits\nYou can look forward to a position in a family-run, financially stable company now in its seventh generation, with strong prospects for the future.
