Landmark has exciting opportunities available!\nWe are currently looking for an experienced host for the iconic Felina Restaurant in Ridgewood, NJ.\nAs the first person to interact with out guests, the role of a host is the first-line of success for our restaurant. The job description of a restaurant host/hostess requires excellent interpersonal skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to interpret and manage different servers sections on the restaurant floor. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:\nTakes reservations for lunch or dinner.\nPlans and organizes reservations on the restaurant seating chart.\nGreets guests as they enter the restaurant.\nSeat guests in an open section or at a reserved table.\nProvides guests with menus and ensures they are seated comfortably.\nAssigns guests evenly across different servers’ sections in the restaurant.\nMaintains restaurant’s seating chart throughout the shift.\nAdds guests’ names to waitlists as necessary.\nTakes drink orders for guests as they wait or directs them to the bar area as necessary.\nNotifies guests when a table is ready.\nKeeps the hostess station neat and organized.\nAssists in rearranging tables for large parties.\nReports any problems or issues to the restaurant manager.\nAttends staff meetings.\nAssists in setting up and cleaning up the restaurant during opening and closing shifts, respectively.\nAddresses and resolves customer concerns and complaints.\nReorganizes the seating chart in the event that a server calls in sick.\nKeeps in contact with servers to make sure the seating chart is properly balanced.\nThank guests for dining at the restaurant when they leave.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nDemonstrates excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.\nPays close attention to detail.\nExhibits excellent organizational skills.\nMaintains a professional but friendly demeanor.\nIs capable of remaining patient and polite when speaking to frustrated guests.\nDemonstrates ability to read and interpret restaurant’s seating chart.\nWorks well with a team.\nCommunicates clearly and effectively.\nPossesses stamina required to remain walking and/or standing for an entire shift.\nDemonstrates strong problem-solving skills.\nPerform other duties as assigned\nMust be available nights, weekends, and holidays.
