Implements and sustains Wide area networks (WANs), Campus Area Networks (CANs), Data Center Networks/Interfaces (DCN/DCI), Network Security (NETSEC) and Tactical/Deployable Networking Systems. Analyzes design, specifications, and related documents. Implements communication system requirements to support the distributed functionality of a networked enterprise environment. Analyzes network characteristics (e.g. traffic connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes and throughput), troubleshoots problems and recommends modification of network configurations.\nResponsibilities\nResolve complex network problems, and operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment and network simulators.\nPerform site surveys, system installations, configuration management, maintenance, modernization, and sustainment of a global Enterprise Network.\nPerform Connectivity engineering services to pre and post deployment tests.\nImplement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPN’s, firewall contexts, and network address translation (NAT) where appropriate.\nMinimize network latency and maximize data throughput.\nValidate new and existing dataflow and data formats.\nLead large efforts of dynamic requirements and scale.\nWork with System engineers, customers, and cross organizational teams to refine requirements.\nCoordinate with appropriate dataflow organizations and end-customer recipients, follow-on data repositories and tasking organizations and understand potential adverse impacts on system-wide dataflow.\nPerform security testing and design evaluations.\nEmploy Government standards to configure the interconnects between data centers, networks and security boundaries.\nDraft technical requirements, configuration management, and planning documentation.\nPerform support to QC, QA, and CM services.\nDesign, integrate, configure, deploy, test and maintain numerous types of network devices, interfaces and technologies to include VPN, VRF, VSS, BGP and OSPF routing, and VLAN.\nOptimize end-to-end system performance (capacity, margins, data quality etc.) and dataflow management.\nConfigure and optimize the network to connect various front-end and back-end components\nCoordinate with the system engineering and dataflow efforts to ensure proper mission operations with minimal down time.\nFacilitate the implementation of high-speed, scalable, fault-tolerant network topologies as applicable to WAN and LAN design.\nRequired Experience/Qualifications\nTwelve (12) years’ experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.\nBachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required.\nFour (4) years of additional network engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.\nCertifications:An IAT level III baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required.\nITIL® V3 Foundations.\n\nSpecial Requirements/Security Clearance\nTS/SCI w/ Polygraph required at time of application.\nSalary Range\nBased on the roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is: $164,000 - $198,000.\nThe annual base salary provided is a guideline for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. When extending an offer, By Light also considers other variables such as (but not limited to) work experience, education, training, skill set, internal peer equity, clearance level, and market conditions.
