Apply in-depth knowledge of DISA/DOD IT network infrastructure to a variety of assignments through the application of technical concepts, practices, and procedures. Perform equipment installations, including network infrastructure build-out, mounting telecommunication hardware, cable/fiber installation, terminations, testing, and pre-commissioning. Ciena 6500, Juniper, Cisco and Sycamore (Coriant) installation experience is preferred. Report installation status and completion with thoroughness and accuracy. Lead teams of Installation Technicians and organize on-site efforts to bring hardware to operational acceptance.\nResponsibilities\nSite infrastructure installations - racks, cable racks, power, grounding, cabling, etc.\nDirect, task, and organize a team of 1 to 2 Network Installation Technicians from deployment to installation close-out.\nUtilize baseline equipment connectivity diagrams to resolve site specific connectivity challenges.\nCommunicate with Test and Acceptance staff to ensure remote access to network devices.\nHardware/software installation of networking components including pre-commissioning hardware with base configurations.\nCircuit wiring, inspection, testing, and activation.\nNetwork node decommissioning and de-installation.\nManage completion reports and status reports providing detailed documentation of network configuration.\nEquipment installations that include network routers, servers, patch panels, cryptographic material, switches, firewalls, and timing and synchronization.\nProficiency with JDSU (or equivalent) network test equipment.\nPerform small to large sized installations with minimal oversight.\nRequired Experience/Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma required.\n\n3+ years of experience including network infrastructure build-out, mounting telecommunication hardware, cable/fiber installation, cable/fiber terminations and cable/fiber testing.\n3 + years of experience installing network routers, servers, patch panels, cryptographic material, switches, firewalls, timing and synchronization and communications devices.\nPrior hands-on experience with Ciena 6500/Ciena RSL/Ciena Wave Server products is highly desirable.\nBICSI Certification.\n\nOEM networking certifications.\n\nMust be familiar with ANSI/TIA standards.\nMust have the ability to work independently or as a leader of a team.\nMust possess a working knowledge of Microsoft office products (PowerPoint, Excel, VISIO, and Word) as necessary for reporting, redlining, and communicating.\nPreferred Experience/Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree or higher is desired but not required.\nPreference for candidates that have worked in DoD/DISA IT network environment.\nStrong preference for candidates with background with Juniper, Cisco, and Ciena devices.\nSpecial Requirements/Security Clearance\nActive Secret clearance;
