This role operates with minimal supervision and requires close collaboration with engineering, cyber operations, program leadership, and multi-vendor partners. The Product Owner will translate mission needs into actionable requirements, prioritize development, and ensure successful delivery of capabilities that support individual and collective cyber training.\nResponsibilities\nDefine, maintain, and communicate the RangeOS product vision, roadmap, and release strategy.\nTranslate operational, customer, and stakeholder needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories.\nPrioritize the product backlog to maximize mission impact, technical feasibility, and delivery velocity.\nWork closely with engineering teams to ensure alignment between requirements, design, and implementation.\nCoordinate with cyber range operators, exercise planners, and multi-vendor partners to validate capabilities and workflows.\nSupport deployment planning, release readiness, and integration across RCS, ECS, and cloud environments.\nDevelop and maintain product documentation, feature briefs, and customer-facing materials.\nServe as the primary voice of the customer, ensuring RangeOS capabilities meet operational training objectives.\nAnalysis and Design\nCollaborate with engineering to shape solution designs that meet functional and non-functional requirements.\nAssess technical tradeoffs, dependencies, and risks across the product lifecycle.\nEstimate effort and complexity for new features and enhancements.\nBacklog and Feature Management\nWrite clear, concise user stories with acceptance criteria.\nGroom and refine the backlog to ensure development teams have well-defined, ready-to-execute work.\nValidate completed features against requirements and mission needs.\nDrive continuous improvement in product workflows, usability, and performance.\nDocumentation\nInternal: Produce clear requirements, user stories, and release notes for engineering and program teams.\nProcess: Maintain product artifacts, roadmaps, and decision logs.\nExternal: Develop customer-facing guides, feature descriptions, and training materials.\nDemonstrate strong communication and presentation skills across technical and non-technical audiences.\nTesting & Validation\nParticipate in feature validation, user acceptance testing, and integrated system testing.\nEnsure delivered capabilities function as intended within cyber range environments.\nGather feedback from operators, instructors, and stakeholders to inform future improvements.\nRequired Experience/Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent professional experience.\n8570 IAT Level II certification\n5+ years of experience in product ownership, product management, or technical leadership roles.\nStrong understanding of Agile methodologies and backlog management practices.\nExperience working with full-stack development teams and modern software architectures.\nFamiliarity with cyber ranges, cyber training platforms, or simulation environments.\nUnderstanding of orchestrated training events, exercise lifecycle, and multi-vendor tool integration.\nAbility to operate across complex environments involving RCS, ECS, cloud, and hybrid deployments.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.\nPreferred Experience/Qualifications\nExperience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).\nExposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern DevSecOps practices.\nUnderstanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).\nKnowledge of REST API design, authentication patterns, and distributed systems.\nFamiliarity with infrastructure automation (Terraform is a plus).\nExperience supporting
