Headquartered in McLean, VA, By Light supports defense, civilian, and commercial IT customers worldwide.\nPosition Overview\nThe Production Planner schedules, and coordinates the flow of work and materials to drive supply chain sources within or between departments according to the production schedule.\nResponsibilities\nTypical Duties include, but are not limited to:\nResolve the day-to-day issues within Production Control and with other departments;\nConfer with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates;\nProvide updates on all programs to Management and report any issues that may impact production schedule;\nContinuous improvement of processes and procedures;\nPlace purchase requests for non-inventory materials;\nCreate Manufacturing Orders and monitor shortages;\nProvide buy item focus list for daily standup meetings;\nWorking with the Purchasing department to make sure that parts are ordered and arrive on time;\nPerform other duties as directed.\nRequired Experience/Qualifications\nHigh school diploma/GED or above\n\nMust have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel\n\n2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment\n\nMust be a highly analytical thinker and problem solver.\n\nPreferred Experience/Qualifications\nExperience as an planner in a manufacturing environment\nExperience in a manufacturing environment in planning, scheduling, and reporting;\nexperience with ERP systems with an MRP focus (CostPoint a plus);\nWorking knowledge of CostPoint\nDetail oriented and organized person\nSpecial Requirements/Security Clearance\nCandidates must be U.S. Persons as defined in the ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20).\nPhysical Demands\nAbility to stand and walk for long periods;
