Headquartered in McLean, VA, By Light supports defense, civilian, and commercial IT customers worldwide.\n*Candidates located in the Washington DC, or Orlando, Florida areas strongly preferred but will consider remote for an exceptional fit.\nPosition Overview\nThe Proposal Solution Architect for Global Solutions will serve as the technical lead and SME, with responsibilities including services, solution architecture, and design engineering functions, as well as leading RFP (Request for Proposal) technical responses.\nThe candidate will serve as a Solution Architect responsible for shaping the client’s vision and strategy, and for developing highly advanced, leading-edge technology concepts spanning networking, mobility, SDN, cloud, cybersecurity, and software applications and platforms for automation, analytics, and/or AI to deliver the necessary solutions and services to our customers.\nResponsibilities\nContribute technical responses to customer RFP’s (Requests for Proposals) and developing innovative solutions while collaborating across business units.\nResponsible for the end-to-end telecommunications and information technology architecture of total enterprise-wide system solutions and services to include: elements of customer requirements gathering, translation of business needs into technical system solutions, architectural design, testing, implementation, documentation and supportability.\nDevelops customer technology solutions using best engineering practices utilizing various industry products and technologies.\nCoordinates or leads the transition or transformation from existing, to new network and/or telecommunications design solutions.\nProvides technical direction and engineering expertise for network and telecommunications systems infrastructure activities, including planning, designing, and implementing communications and network infrastructure requirements\nDevelop work breakdown structure and level of effort for opportunity capture\nRequired Experience/Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical field desired w/ a minimum 5 years of work experience as a technical lead or in a role related to solutions / enterprise architect capacity; mobility and wireline networks, large scale enterprise systems integration, IT Strategy and Management, IT Transformations, and/or Cloud Architecture.\n5 years supporting Enterprise customers or Carrier Companies serving Enterprise companies\nCandidate must have a strong understanding of telecom and IT infrastructure business.\nExtensive technical knowledge of managing and manipulating telemetry for cybersecurity solutions and/or IT/Software solutions related to performance, behavior, and user experience. Recent experience in the past 2-3 years is preferred. \nWorking technical knowledge or work experience in data transport services, technologies - IP, MPLS, Ethernet, OTN, DWDM and SDWAN\nWorking technical knowledge of basic and advanced networking appliances and concepts.\nWorking knowledge of new and emerging technologies such as autonomous networking, SDN, NFV, Cloud, DevOps, SecDevOps and Managed Security Services.\nProficient in Microsoft Office products (ex. Excel and word) and Salesforce.com\nFlexibility and ability to work in dynamic and ambiguous environments.\nHigh proficiency in Technical Writing including proposal writing\nExcellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills\nPreferred Experience/Qualifications\nStrong interpersonal skills, Strong communicator, Strong presentation skills, knowledge of 'Solutions Selling' basics.\nCurrent technical certifications aligned to telecommunications, cybersecurity, networking, software development and/or information technology.\nSpecial Requirements/Security Clearance\nActive SECRET Security or higher Clearance is required.\nSalary Range\nSalary Minimum: $135,000\nSalary Maximum: $175,000\nThe annual base salary provided is a guideline for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
