This role is the technical counterpart to the pod owner (product owner), responsible for ensuring features are delivered with high quality, sound technical decisions, and predictable timelines.\nYou will bridge product and engineering by reviewing requirements, guiding technical decisions, driving engineering best practices, and ensuring the team delivers scalable, maintainable software. This role replaces the traditional Project Manager within the pod.\nA pod is a small, cross-functional team with end-to-end ownership of a specific business domain or product area. It is accountable for delivering outcomes, making decisions, and continuously improving its domain. Consider, the pod owner to be the CEO of the pod and you, the engineering manage will be the CTO of the pod.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn engineering delivery, planning, estimation, and execution for the product pod.\nPartner with the pod owner to review PRDs, identify gaps, edge cases, and technical risks before development begins.\nLead technical discussions, challenge assumptions, and validate implementation approaches.\nDrive predictable delivery while balancing speed, quality, and technical debt.\nEnforce engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, documentation, observability, security, and coding standards.\nEnsure production quality by driving root cause analysis and preventing recurring issues.\nMentor engineers, improve engineering discipline, and foster a culture of ownership and accountability.\nCollaborate with QA, Design, DevOps, and other teams to remove blockers and ensure successful releases.\nPerform Technical research for the pod on behalf of the pod owner.\nRequirements\nPrimary Requirements\n8+ years of professional software engineering experience.\n2+ years leading engineering teams or technical delivery.\nStrong experience building modern Enterprise SaaS products.\nSolid understanding of software architecture and system design.\nKnowledge of cloud-native applications (AWS preferred).\nExperience with modern development practices, CI/CD, and automated testing.\nStrong understanding of Agile product development.\nAbility to review code and technical designs.\nExcellent planning, estimation, and delivery management skills.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management abilities.\nAbility to balance business priorities with engineering quality.\nPreferred Requirements\nExperience leading cross-functional product teams.\nExperience in high-growth product startups.\nKnowledge of secure software development practices.\nExperience with observability, production monitoring, and incident management.\nExperience mentoring senior engineers and technical leads.\nExpertise with AI-assisted software development tools and workflows.\nSoft Skills & Mindset\nClear communication and the confidence to challenge and be challenged.\nCurious, proactive, and generous with knowledge.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, collaborative product environment.\nStrong desire to build real products that solve real problems.\nSuccess in the Role\nA successful Engineering Manager will:\nDeliver features on time with high engineering quality.\nImprove PRD readiness by identifying gaps early.\nChallenge weak technical decisions and promote sound engineering practices.\nReduce production defects and engineering rework.\nImprove estimation accuracy and delivery predictability.\nBuild a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nBenefits\nAt Stadium, your input matters, and we believe in creating a culture where innovation is encouraged.
