This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on automation development, learning modern industrial software technologies, and working closely with real machines and production systems.\nWhat drives this department\nOur team develops the foundation for intelligent material flow in sheet metal manufacturing. We build flexible systems that connect storage towers, machines, and transport solutions, including driverless transport vehicles. We combine traditional automation with modern software and connected device technologies to create smart, data-driven production environments.\nWhat you will be doing\nDevelop and maintain PLC software for automated storage and intralogistics systems using Beckhoff TwinCAT\nImplement machine control for storage and intralogistics systems, according to interfaces to laser cutting cells, bending cells, and higher-level software systems\nSupport the development of configurable and reusable software architectures for modular machine systems\nParticipate in commissioning and testing activities in-house and occasionally at customer sites\nTroubleshoot and optimize automation workflows, machine sequences, and communication systems\nWork closely with mechanical, electrical, HMI, and software engineers in interdisciplinary project teams\nContribute to modern industrial connectivity solutions using technologies such as MQTT and OPC UA\nSupport continuous improvements in software quality, diagnostics, and maintainability\nYour education & experience\nYou have a degree or technical education in electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics, computer science, or a related field\nYou bring experience in PLC software development, ideally with Beckhoff TwinCAT\nYou have a good understanding of industrial communication systems such as EtherCAT, OPC UA, MQTT, or similar technologies\nYou have a high interest in modern industrial automation and connected manufacturing systems\nYou bring experience with Git or similar version control systems\nWhat you need to
