Electrical Construction / 電気工事) to support our growing Data Center construction and fit-out business in Japan.\nThe successful candidate will serve as a qualified technical professional under Japan’s Construction Business Act (建設業法) and provide technical supervision for large-scale electrical construction projects, primarily within data centers.\nThis position is suitable for an experienced electrical construction professional who has worked on large commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center projects.\nKey Responsibilities\nServe as 監理技術者 (Supervising Engineer) for electrical construction projects in accordance with the Construction Business Act.\n\nProvide technical supervision and management of electrical installation works at data center construction sites.\n\nSupervise subcontractors and coordinate construction activities with customers, general contractors, vendors, and other trades.\n\nReview construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and work plans.\n\nMonitor construction quality, safety, schedule, and compliance with project requirements.\n\nManage and coordinate electrical works, including:\nPower distribution\n\nUPS and electrical infrastructure\n\nBusway / Busduct\n\nPower cabling and containment\n\nEquipment power connections\n\nGrounding / bonding\n\nElectrical installations associated with data center racks and infrastructure\n\nSupport inspection, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.\n\nMaintain necessary construction and technical documentation.\n\nSupport the Project Manager and engineering team in resolving technical and site issues.\n\nEnsure work is performed in accordance with Japanese laws, regulations, applicable standards, and customer requirements.\n\nSafety Management\nMonitor and promote safe working practices for electrical construction activities.\n\nReview and support risk assessments, method statements, and site safety procedures.\n\nParticipate in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, KY activities, and site safety inspections.\n\nIdentify unsafe conditions and coordinate corrective actions with Project Managers, Site Managers, HSE/Safety personnel, and subcontractors.\n\nEnsure subcontractors comply with project safety requirements and applicable Japanese laws and regulations.\n\nSupport safe work planning for high-risk activities, including electrical work, energized systems, lifting operations, work at height, and other applicable construction activities.\n\nReport and escalate safety incidents, near misses, and significant safety concerns in accordance with project procedures.\n\nPromote a strong safety culture across project and subcontractor teams.\n\nMandatory Qualifications\nCandidates must be legally qualified to serve as a 監理技術者 for Electrical Construction (電気工事) in Japan.\nOne of the following or an equivalent recognized qualification is required:\n1級電気工事施工管理技士\n\n技術士 with an applicable qualification recognized for Electrical Construction\n\nOther qualifications officially recognized as meeting the requirements for 監理技術者（電気工事）\n\nCandidates must already possess or be eligible to obtain:\n監理技術者資格者証\n\n監理技術者講習修了証\n\nExperience\nExperience in electrical construction projects in Japan.\n\nExperience supervising subcontractors and construction activities.\n\nUnderstanding of Japanese construction practices and the Construction Business Act.\n\nExperience with large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or similar electrical construction projects.\n\nData center construction experience is highly preferred but not mandatory.\n\nPreferred Skills\nExperience with hyperscale or large-scale data center projects.\n\nKnowledge of UPS, power distribution, busway, generators, electrical panels, and mission-critical infrastructure.\n\nExperience with testing and commissioning.\n\nAbility to review electrical drawings and construction documentation.\n\nExperience coordinating multiple subcontractors.\n\nExperience with construction site safety management and risk assessment.\n\nBasic English communication skills are preferred but not mandatory.\n\nWorking Location\nOsaka / Kansai Region\nThe role will primarily support data center and mission-critical construction projects in Osaka and the wider Kansai area.
