It has been known for delivering leading-edge healthcare to cater for the changing needs of the growing populace and is the epitome of medical innovations and quality healthcare that offers easy connectivity and accessibility to patients from all over the East African region.\n\nJob Summary: The Hospital Accountant is responsible for managing the hospital’s financial records, transactions, reporting, budgeting, and financial controls. The role ensures that all income and expenditure are accurately recorded and that the hospital complies with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal financial policies.\n\nKey Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial ledgers.\n\nRecord and reconcile daily hospital income, including cash, bank, insurance, corporate, and patient payments.\n\nMonitor patient billing, receivables, outstanding balances, and collections.\n\nVerify invoices, payment requests, purchase orders, and supporting documentation.\n\nProcess supplier and other operational payments in accordance with approved procedures.\n\nPrepare bank, cash, debtor, creditor, and other account reconciliations.\n\nMonitor hospital expenses and ensure expenditure is properly authorized and supported.\n\nPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.\n\nAssist in preparation and monitoring of departmental and hospital budgets.\n\nTrack and account for medical supplies, medicines, equipment, and other hospital inventories where applicable.\n\nMaintain proper records of fixed assets and assist with asset verification.\n\nSupport payroll accounting and ensure payroll-related transactions are properly recorded.\n\nPrepare and submit statutory tax returns and other financial reports as required.\n\nAssist internal and external auditors by providing accurate financial records and supporting documentation.\n\nIdentify financial discrepancies, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions.\n\nMaintain effective financial controls to minimize errors, fraud, and financial losses.\n\nEnsure confidentiality and proper safeguarding of financial and patient-related information.\n\nPerform other accounting and financial duties assigned by management\n\nQualifications, Skills and Experience:\n\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.\n\nProfessional accounting qualification or progress toward one, such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent, is an added advantage.\n\nPrevious experience in hospital, healthcare, clinic, or service-sector accounting is preferred.\n\nGood knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.\n\nFamiliarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.\n\nKnowledge of healthcare billing, insurance claims, and
