Robinson is seeking an Account Executive to join our customer team in Rotterdam.\nIn this role, you will support a portfolio that includes medium to large, complex customers, with a strong focus on customer service, account retention and high-quality execution. At least 50% of your time will be dedicated to customer support and retention, working closely with the Key Account Manager and operational teams to keep customers informed, resolve issues and deliver on commitments.\nAs a key customer contact, you will combine freight-forwarding knowledge with confident communication and commercial awareness. With the flexibility for remote work two days a week (after the onboarding period), this role strikes the perfect balance between teamwork and autonomy.\nApply today and join us as we shape a diverse, inclusive and more sustainable future for the supply chain industry.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nThe duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:\nServe as a primary day-to-day customer contact, delivering a positive experience through proactive communication, timely updates and an appropriate sense of urgency.\nPartner closely with the Key Account Manager, operations and product or capacity teams to ensure high-quality execution and consistent service.\nOwn customer follow-up and support account retention by understanding requirements, monitoring commitments and addressing service issues promptly.\nStay informed about changes in customers’ businesses, industries and supply chains, using that knowledge to anticipate needs and identify improvement opportunities.\nAnalyze customer-specific data, service performance, volume and financial results, and share actionable insights with internal stakeholders.\nCollaborate with internal teams to develop practical freight-forwarding and supply-chain solutions aligned with customer expectations.\nNavigate difficult conversations and manage conflict with tact, diplomacy and a solution-focused approach.\nUse effective negotiation and commercial skills when discussing pricing, service solutions or additional opportunities with customers.\nAdopt new tools and processes that improve workflow, visibility and the overall customer experience.\nContinuously develop knowledge of C.H. Robinson’s services, technology and transport modes, with particular relevance to ocean freight.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequired\nMinimum 2 years of customer-facing experience in freight forwarding, gained in account management, customer service, customer support, operations or a similar role.\nStrong understanding of freight-forwarding operations and the ability to translate operational information into clear customer updates.\nFluency in Dutch and English.\nWillingness and ability to work from the Rotterdam office during onboarding and at least three days per week thereafter.\nPreferred\nExperience with ocean freight or supporting complex ocean-freight customers.\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-informed decisions.\nStrong relationship-building, negotiation and influencing skills, combined with sound business acumen.\nAbility to work effectively under deadlines, collaborate in a team and deliver independent results.\nStrong prioritization and multitasking skills, with a consistent sense of urgency.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills across customers, operations and management levels.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office.\nA growth mindset, customer focus and motivation to learn and develop.\nCommitment to a diverse and inclusive work environment.\nWHAT WE OFFER\nReal career possibilities and the opportunity to develop your talent in a fast-moving, global organization.\nA positive, open environment that encourages collaboration and thinking outside the box.\nThe opportunity to use and develop your language skills in an international work environment.\nCompensation including a monthly salary and bonus based on personal and team performance and business growth.\nA benefits package including a well-being program, ESPP, and unlimited access to learning platforms.\nWe will review applications for this role on an ongoing basis and encourage all interested candidates to apply at their earliest convenience.\nCompensation Range\n€34,900.00 - €59,500.00The base pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for the position across the entirety of the country this requisition is posted in.
