Robinson is seeking a Customs Broker, responsible for the accurate and timely submission of customs entries for clearance processes as described in the C.H Robinson Customs procedures. In this role, you will further develop knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements, refine customer service skills, utilize reporting tools, and possess an overall understanding of the supply chain process. You will ensure compliance and operational excellence representing both C.H. Robinson and our customers, with skills and expertise leading to further development within the organization.\nResponsibilities:\nThe duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:\nMaintain Operational Excellence\nDemonstrate mastery of customs brokerage standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.\nAnalyse and validate import and export documentation to ensure compliance with all New Zealand regulatory requirements.\nPrepare, review, and lodge Customs and biosecurity entries with the New Zealand Customs Service (NZCS) and Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI).\nClassify goods using international tariff codes and determine applicable duties, GST, and regulatory requirements.\nEnsure all shipments comply with NZ Customs, MPI, and other government agency requirements.\nLiaise with customers, transport providers, Customs, MPI, and other stakeholders to facilitate timely clearance and delivery of cargo.\nIdentify and resolve compliance issues that may result in shipment delays, inspections, or additional charges.\nComplete tariff classifications, customs valuations, and clearance activities accurately and within required timeframes.\nMaintain customer SOPs and ensure operational excellence through accuracy, compliance, and customer service.\nOperate customs brokerage systems including Expedient and Microsoft Office applications.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation.\nRequired Qualifications:\nRequired:\nHigh School Diploma or GED\nMinimum 2 years of Customs Brokerage experience\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPreferred:\nMinimum 2 years' experience in Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, or International Trade.\nStrong knowledge of New Zealand Customs Service (NZCS) and Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) regulations and processes.\nCompletion, a Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Federation (CBAFF) UUI/PIN qualification.\nExperience with tariff classification, customs valuation, and import/export compliance.\nStrong attention to detail and analytical skills.\nExcellent communication and customer service capabilities.\nExperience using Expedient and Microsoft Office Suite.\nBenefits\nAt C.H.
