Robinson is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our Transactional Revenue Management team, responsible for building and evolving a platform that delivers competitive, near-real-time pricing for shipping customers.\nIn this role, you will partner closely with engineers, data scientists, and analysts to design and deliver scalable systems for cost estimation, pricing strategy configuration, and data-driven insights. You will take ownership of building scalable and modular near real-time systems that can be rapidly reconfigured and extended to match evolving business needs and creating experimentation workflows and tools to rapidly test hypotheses. This role emphasizes distributed system design, cloud-native development, and data-intensive applications, with a growing focus on AI-assisted and agentic solution development.\nThis Role can be based only in MN, IL and Kansas City\nDuties& Responsibilities:\nDesign and deliver high-complexity, scalable solutions supporting near real-time decisioning systems\n\nArchitect and evolve distributed systems, including:\n\nMicroservices and RESTful APIs\n\nEvent-driven and streaming architectures\n\nHybrid data storage strategies (relational and NoSQL)\n\nCollaborate with architects and cross-functional teams to influence and evolve system architecture\n\nIndependently drive system design decisions, balancing scalability, reliability, performance, and cost\n\nBuild and maintain applications using Python (backend services, data pipelines) and React (frontend user experiences)\n\nDevelop and operate cloud-native solutions in Azure leveraging Kubernetes\n\nDesign and implement data workflows using Airflow or DAG-based orchestration frameworks\n\nWork across modern data ecosystems, including:\n\nMongoDB or similar NoSQL systems\n\nSnowflake or comparable analytical data platforms\n\nOwn services and repositories end-to-end, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability\n\nBreak down complex initiatives, guide estimation and delivery timelines, and proactively manage execution risks\n\nImplement strong testing strategies (unit, integration, and end-to-end) and maintain high standards for code quality\n\nLeverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate engineering workflows and improve code quality\n\nContribute to agentic and intelligent automation solutions, enabling adaptive and decision-driven workflows\n\nPartner with data scientists and analysts to productionize models and support experimentation frameworks\n\nApply statistical thinking or data science concepts to improve system effectiveness (where applicable)\n\nBuild strong, collaborative relationships across engineering, product, data, and architecture teams\n\nActively contribute to and lead design discussions and code reviews\n\nMentor and support other engineers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement\n\nProvide clear communication on progress, risks, and technical decisions\n\nContribute to planning, prioritization, and delivery execution across the team\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n5+ years of experience designing and delivering production-grade software\n\n5+ years of experience with Python and backend service development\n\n5+ years of experience with React or modern frontend frameworks\n\nExperience building cloud-native applications (Azure preferred) with Kubernetes\n\nExperience with modern data technologies, including MongoDB (or similar) and Snowflake (or equivalent)\n\nExperience with data pipelines and workflow orchestration (e.g., Airflow)\n\nExperience designing and consuming APIs and distributed systems\n\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices\n\nAbility to independently own and deliver complex features or services\n\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools and building intelligent workflows (e.g. Copilot)\n\nExperience on agentic or LLM-based frameworks (LangChain/LangSmith, or similar agent frameworks) and orchestration tooling\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience partnering with data science teams to deliver production models\n\nBackground in statistical modeling, experimentation, or data-driven decision systems\n\nExperience in pricing, logistics, or other high-scale transactional systems\n\nStrong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and product decisions\n\nDemonstrated ability to mentor engineers and contribute to team growth\n\nExperience with monitoring tools (ex.
