Reporting to the Property COO, this highly visible role will collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure all core processes-spanning underwriting, policy administration, claims, and customer service-are efficient, scalable, and aligned with company objectives. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in process architecture within commercial property insurance and a proven track record of driving process transformation.\nResponsibilities:\nAnalyze, design, and implement best-in-class business processes for all key property insurance functions (underwriting, policy servicing, claims, loss control, etc.).\nAssess current-state processes; identify opportunities for optimization, standardization, simplification, and automation.\nDevelop detailed process models, workflows, procedures, RACI matrices, and documentation to ensure clarity and consistency.\nPartner with business leaders, subject matter experts, project managers, and IT to ensure process design supports strategic goals and system capabilities.\nLead process mapping and process redesign workshops with cross-functional stakeholders.\nDefine process metrics and KPIs; establish process governance frameworks to enable ongoing management and continuous improvement.\nSupport the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technology platforms or tools, ensuring alignment with process requirements.\nServe as a primary point of contact for process escalation related to property operations.\nAdvise on process risk, compliance, and internal control issues, ensuring all process designs meet regulatory and audit requirements.\nProvide training, coaching, and guidance to process owners and front-line staff on process changes and best practices.\nContribute to a culture of operational excellence, proactively seeking opportunities to enhance customer experience and efficiency.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Insurance, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).\n10+ years of experience in process architecture, business process management (BPM), operations, or consulting, with extensive background in commercial property insurance (property side experience required).\nProven expertise in process design, mapping, and process re-engineering within a complex, regulated environment.\nHands-on experience with process documentation tools\nFamiliarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies\nStrong understanding of property insurance products, systems, workflows, and regulatory requirements.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills.\nSuperior communication and facilitation abilities; proven experience leading workshops or cross-functional meetings.\nAbility to work effectively with both executive stakeholders and operational teams.\nHigh level of professionalism, strategic thinking, and a passion for operational excellence.\nFor individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
