This is a hands-on leadership role with an expectation that the manager remains technically engaged in the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of infrastructure technologies across on-premises and cloud environments.\nIn addition to leading engineers and vendors, the Infrastructure Manager actively participates in architecture decisions, operational support, and modernization initiatives to ensure infrastructure platforms are secure, resilient, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.\nCore Technologies and Platforms (Hands-On Expectation)\nVirtualization & Compute: VMware\nCloud Platform: Microsoft Azure\nDisaster Recovery & Replication: Zerto & Microsoft ASR\nBackup & Recovery: Commvault & Azure Backup\nIT Service Management & CMDB: ServiceNow (CMDB, ITOM aligned environments)\nMonitoring and Alerting Platforms: Solarwinds, PagerDuty, and VMware vROPs\nApplication and Desktop Delivery Platforms: Citrix and AVD\nOperating Systems: Windows Server\nData Center Environments\nKey Responsibilities\nManage and remain hands-on with day-to-day operations of enterprise infrastructure platforms, ensuring availability, performance, and stability\nDesign, implement, and support on-premises and cloud infrastructure solutions, including compute, storage, backup, and disaster recovery\nLead infrastructure initiatives including upgrades, refreshes, disaster recovery improvements, and large-scale modernization programs\nOversee and actively engage in data center operations, virtualization, storage, backup, and recovery platforms\nLead incident response and serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues, including root cause analysis and remediation\nManage infrastructure vendors and service providers while retaining technical ownership of delivered solutions\nLead, coach, and develop infrastructure engineering staff through direct technical mentorship\nSupport CapEx and OpEx planning with hands-on input into platform design and technology selection\nEnsure infrastructure environments meet security, audit, and compliance requirements\nMaintain accurate asset and configuration data aligned with CMDB standards\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience\n8-10+ years of progressive enterprise IT infrastructure experience\n3-5+ years in an infrastructure leadership role with direct hands-on technical responsibilities\nDemonstrated hands-on experience supporting and operating enterprise infrastructure in on-premises and cloud environments\nStrong hands-on experience with data center operations, virtualization, storage, backup, and disaster recovery platforms\nExperience with large-scale infrastructure modernization programs\nAbility to act as a technical escalation point and actively participate in troubleshooting complex issues\nExperience leading technical teams and managing vendors\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in financial services or other regulated environments\nHands-on experience with hybrid cloud or cloud-adjacent architectures\nFamiliarity with ITSM and CMDB platforms (ServiceNow preferred)\nAn estimated salary range for this position is 170-195k\nStarr is an equal opportunity employer, which means we'll consider all suitably qualified applicants regardless of gender identity or expression, ethnic origin, nationality, religion or beliefs, age, sexual orientation, disability status or any other protected characteristic.
