Grow your career with a rapidly growing company that invests in its people and their ability to drive real progress.\nPosition Overview:\nThe Senior A&E Underwriter is responsible for underwriting and managing a profitable portfolio of large Architects & Engineers Professional Liability business, including large practice policies and project specific business. This role includes risk assessment, relationship management, and collaborating with brokers to deliver tailored insurance solutions.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAnalyze and underwrite new and renewal Architects & Engineers Professional Liability risks in accordance with company guidelines and procedures.\nEvaluate exposures, review applications, loss histories, and supplemental information to determine eligibility and pricing.\nDevelop and maintain strong agency and broker relationships to drive business growth.\nNegotiate terms, coverage, and pricing to secure desirable new business and renewals.\nCollaborate with the underwriting team, claims, and actuarial departments to ensure sound risk management practices.\nMonitor portfolio performance and adjust strategies to maximize profitability.\nKeep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity.\nParticipate in client meetings, presentations, and industry events as a representative of Twin Maples Specialty.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in business, Insurance, or related field (preferred).\nMinimum of 5-7 years’ experience in professional liability underwriting, with a focus on Architects & Engineers.\nDeep understanding of A&E risk exposures, insurance products, regulations, and underwriting methodologies.\nStrong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.\nExcellent communication and relationship management abilities.\nDemonstrated ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.\nStarr is an equal opportunity employer, which means we'll consider all suitably qualified applicants regardless of gender identity or expression, ethnic origin, nationality, religion or beliefs, age, sexual orientation, disability status or any other protected characteristic.
