Working under the guidance of an experienced instructional developer, this position partners with subject matter experts and technical teams to translate SAP business processes and system procedures into accessible content. The Technical Writer applies established instructional design methods, documentation standards, and authoring tools to produce user guides, job aids, and training materials for diverse audiences.\nEssential Functions & Responsibilities:\nCollaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and document requirements for instructional solutions.\n\nCommunicates with team members and stakeholders to clarify technical concepts and confirm accuracy and understanding of content.\n\nAssists in developing training content, including user guides, job aids, quick reference cards, and presentation materials, that aligns with learning objectives and meets the needs of diverse audiences.\n\nDocuments SAP business processes, workflows, user actions, and system procedures using established templates and standards.\n\nCaptures and incorporates visual elements such as screenshots, diagrams, and process flows to enhance learning materials.\n\nParticipates in the design of interactive instructional activities and exercises that engage new SAP users.\n\nFollows established style guides, version control practices, and review cycles; submits drafts for review by the lead instructional developer.\n\nEvaluates and updates documentation and training materials based on user feedback, system changes, and effectiveness reviews.\n\nSupports the preparation and logistics of training sessions, including materials, training environments, and attendee resources, as directed.\n\nAdheres to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security, which includes actively participating in quality assurance activities and ensuring the protection of sensitive information in accordance with our security policies.\n\nMinimum Requirements:\nBachelor's degree in English, Communications, Instructional Design, Education, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\n\n1-3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 2-3 years of relevant experience without a Bachelor's degree (internships, apprenticeships, and military experience count).\n\nExperience or coursework in instructional design, technical writing, or graphic design.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency.\n\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.\n\nAbility to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies, systems, and processes.\n\nU.S. citizenship required.\n\nMust be able to obtain and maintain an active government clearance (requires U.S. citizenship). \n\nNice to Have:\n1+ year of experience working with SAP applications (SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA).\n\nFamiliarity with instructional design models such as ADDIE and adult learning principles.\n\nExperience with e-learning and screen capture tools such as SAP Enable Now, Articulate 360, Camtasia, or Snagit.\n\nExperience creating visual content such as process diagrams or infographics using tools such as Microsoft Visio or Adobe Creative Cloud.\n\nExperience supporting training or enablement within a federal government or government contracting environment.\n\nCompensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected compensation for this position is $26/hr - $35/hr. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
