Description\nYour Role at Cabot\n\nThe Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the availability, reliability, maintenance, and operational performance of Cabot's global network infrastructure.\n\nReporting to the Network Platform Owner and working closely with managed service providers, regional IT teams, and site resources across Cabot's global footprint, this role serves as the senior technical resource for network operations, implementation, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management across enterprise and manufacturing environments.\n\nThe Senior Network Engineer is accountable not only for maintaining day-to-day network operations, but also for executing network improvements, upgrades, and modernization initiatives across the enterprise.\n\nHow You Will Make an Impact\n\nEnsure the availability, performance, and reliability of the enterprise network infrastructure.\n\nMonitor and maintain network health across LAN, WAN, wireless, remote access, and perimeter services.\n\nLead investigation and resolution of network outages, service degradations, and performance issues.\n\nManage network incident, problem, and change activities in accordance with established operational processes.\n\nMaintain operational readiness through proactive monitoring, maintenance, patching, configuration management, and lifecycle management.\n\nSupport business continuity and disaster recovery objectives through resilient network operations.\n\nLead and directly execute network engineering initiatives across switching, routing, wireless, firewall, remote access, and voice infrastructures.\n\nPlan and implement network upgrades, technology refreshes, and infrastructure improvements.\n\nConfigure, deploy, and validate network solutions in accordance with approved architecture, security requirements, and operational standards.\n\nExecute and operationalize network architectures, standards, and design patterns established by the Network Platform Owner.\n\nSupport network modernization initiatives, including SD-WAN, network segmentation, wireless refreshes, and cloud connectivity projects.\n\nParticipate in site deployments, cutovers, migrations, and post-deployment stabilization activities.\n\nDevelop and maintain network documentation, runbooks, diagrams, operational procedures, and as-built configurations.\n\nServe as the senior technical escalation point for complex network incidents and operational issues.\n\nAct as the point of escalation for managed service providers on network and security-related issues, providing technical direction and driving resolution of complex or systemic problems.\n\nCoordinate restoration efforts during major incidents and service disruptions.\n\nPerform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence.\n\nSupport after-hours maintenance activities and critical incident response when required.\n\nEnsure network operations and implementations align with established security standards, architecture, and risk requirements.\n\nSupport implementation and maintenance of network segmentation, secure remote access, network access controls, and firewall policies.\n\nAssist with security investigations and incident response activities requiring network expertise.\n\nEnsure network telemetry, logging, and monitoring capabilities meet operational and security requirements.\n\nIdentify and remediate network-related risks, vulnerabilities, and configuration deviations.\n\nCoordinate daily operational activities with managed service providers and technology vendors.\n\nValidate provider performance against established service-level agreements and operational expectations.\n\nReview changes, maintenance activities, and implementation plans for operational impact and technical quality.\n\nEscalate recurring service quality or performance concerns to the Network Platform Owner as appropriate.\n\nPartner with regional IT teams to ensure consistent support and operational practices globally.\n\nMaintain operational ownership of network infrastructure across enterprise and manufacturing environments.\n\nSupport capacity planning, performance optimization, platform lifecycle, and technology refresh activities.\n\nEnsure all network changes are properly assessed, documented, tested, approved, and implemented.\n\nMaintain compliance with established network, security, and operational standards.\n\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to network administrators, managed service provider resources, and local IT teams.\n\nSupport strategic modernization initiatives through technical implementation and operational transition activities.\n\nRequirements\n\n7+ years of enterprise network engineering and operations experience.\n\nStrong hands-on expertise in routing and switching, wireless networking, TCP/IP, VPN and remote access technologies, firewalls, and network security controls.\n\nExperience supporting global or multi-site enterprise environments.\n\nExperience working within managed service provider-supported operating models.\n\nStrong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.\n\nStrong English communication skills, both verbal and written.\n\nNice to have\n\nIndustry certifications such as CCNP, Fortinet certification, or equivalent.\n\nExperience with ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms.\n\nNetwork automation and scripting using Python, Ansible, or PowerShell.\n\nFamiliarity with NIST, ISO 27001, or other security
