Our scale, experience, and commitment to operational excellence position us as a long-term industry leader in one of the most dynamic segments of commercial real estate.\nJob Summary\nThe Property Accounting Intern will support the Property Accounting team with the accurate and timely completion of financial reporting for Cabot's real estate portfolio. Under the guidance of the Property Accounting Manager and team, the intern will gain hands-on experience reviewing daily transactions, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, property financial statements, annual budgets, and tenant-related accounting. This opportunity is well suited for an organized, analytical student who is eager to apply accounting concepts in a professional real estate environment.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities\nAccounting Operations\nAssist the property accounting and property management teams with reviewing general ledger and subledger activity for assigned properties.\nHelp record daily cash receipts to tenant ledgers and research routine posting questions.\nFinancial Reporting\nAssist with monthly and quarterly property financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with company policies.\nPrepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations, operating expense reconciliations, and variance analyses for review.\nBudgeting and Tenant Support\nSupport the preparation of annual property budgets and related schedules.\nAssist with annual CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, and supporting documentation.\nCoordination and Project Support\nHelp maintain accounting deadline calendars, gather information, and follow up on open items to support timely reporting.\nAssist with accounts payable invoice review, ad hoc property management requests, audit support, and other property accounting projects as assigned.\nQualifications & Experience\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting.\nCoursework in financial or intermediate accounting preferred; prior accounting or real estate experience is helpful but not required.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; exposure to MRI or another accounting system is a plus.\nStrong attention to detail, organization, analytical thinking, and willingness to ask questions.\nAbility to communicate clearly, collaborate across teams, and handle confidential information professionally.\nWork Environment & Travel\nInternship conducted primarily in a professional office environment.\nFrequent use of computers and digital communication platforms.\nLimited travel may be required for property site visits or team meetings.\nReasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with applicable laws to support individuals with disabilities.\nEqual Opportunity Statement\nCabot Properties is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive and respectful workplace for all.
