You’ll evaluate tools and methodologies, assess adversary intent, develop cybersecurity analytics and other techniques to thwart or detect attacks, develop approaches to automate cybersecurity operations, and engage in research to improve the state of the practice.\nResponsibilities:\nWork closely with red-team experts to evaluate IT environments and identify security goals, vulnerabilities, objectives, and requirements\nPerform cybersecurity operations testing, and develop improvements to doing so, based on real adversary behavior described in adversary emulation plans\nEvaluate the efficacy of existing detection mechanisms, analytics, and mitigations\nIdentify gaps in visibility, data, tools, and process\nAddress gaps within defenses by improving systems and processes\nDevelop approaches to automating cybersecurity operations, reducing cost and increasing efficiency\nSolve cyber problems through operations, data-driven analytics, and development\nLeverage research, frameworks, and best practices to improve the defensive posture of our sponsors\n Qualifications:\nRequired:\nApproximately seven years of experience as an infrastructure operator\nProficiency working in a Linux environment - Centos, Ubuntu, Fedora, Solaris, Backtrack\nDatabase experience, to include writing complex queries and modifying schemas (e.g. Oracle, MySQL).\nExperience in a cyber-security role\nExperience configuring network devices (e.g. routers, switches, etc.).\nExperience performing network packet inspection, traffic analysis, performance characterization (e.g. Wireshark, TCPdump, etc.).\nUnderstanding of network/cyber security, penetration testing, and information security best practices\nUnderstanding of Linux network security tools - (e.g. Metasploit, netcat, nmap, etc.).\nExperience building virtual infrastructure - (e.g. vSphere).\nExperience using scripting languages for automation, parsing data sets, and network monitoring (e.g. bash, Perl, Python, etc.).\nExperience in either the design, implementation, procurement and maintenance of network infrastructure\nActive TS/SCI with required polygraph\nThis position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately.
