This role ensures that data is reliably ingested, transformed, governed, and delivered across secure enterprise systems. The Data Engineer partners closely with software engineers, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to provide high-quality, accessible data that enables operational and strategic outcomes.\nResponsibilities:\nAssembling large, complex sets of data that meet business requirements from internal and external environments\nBuilding required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using AWS, SQL, and other technologies\nDesign, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines that support analytical, operational, and AI/ML workloads\nDevelop and maintain data models, schemas, and storage structures optimized for performance and usability\nImplement data integration frameworks and APIs to enable secure data movement and interoperability\nCollaborate with software engineers, analysts, and data science teams to ensure workflows are well supported\nMonitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipelines, ensuring high availability, data quality, and adherence to governance requirements\nDocument data architectures, processes, and engineering standards; contribute to continuous improvement within Agile/DevOps environments\nOperate within compliance, security, and information assurance requirements, particularly in regulated or classified environments\nQualifications:\nRequired: \nMinimum 5 years’ experience as a DBA, Developer, or related field Commitment to documentation, process improvement, and high quality engineering practices\nUnderstanding of data quality, data lineage, and governance in enterprise environments\nProficiency with at least one programming language used in data engineering (Python, Java, etc.)\nProficiency in SQL, data modeling, and ETL/ELT development\nExperience building and maintaining data pipelines, integrations, and workflow orchestration in secure environments.\nStrong experience working with large, complex datasets across multiple systems\nExperience with relational database and data warehouse technologies.\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for data engineering workloads\nAbility to collaborate with cross-functional engineering and analytics teams to resolve technical issues\nDesired:\nBachelors or Masters in information systems, computer science, or related field\nExperience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or other regulated mission environments\nExcellent attention to detail\nStrong ability to multitask\nStrong communication and collaboration skills\nAbility to troubleshoot complex data issues\n-What You Can Expect:\nA culture of integrity.\nAt CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
