The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical engineering background with understanding of mechanical engineering principles.\nResponsibilities:\nComponent Management\nManage and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) for multiple product lines\n\nSupport design teams in selecting reliable, cost-effective components\n\nTest and qualify new components to verify performance, environmental, and electrical requirements\n\nRead and interpret schematics, datasheets, and BOMs with high accuracy\n\nLifecycle & Obsolescence Management\nMonitor component lifecycles and proactively identify end-of-life (EOL) parts\n\nResearch and recommend alternative components before shortages impact production\n\nAnalyze forecasts and make data-driven recommendations for lifetime buy quantities\n\nCoordinate with design engineering and contract manufacturers to implement component changes\n\nCounterfeit Component Management\nManage counterfeit testing programs at independent test facilities\n\nReview and analyze test results (physical inspection, X-ray, decapsulation, electrical testing)\n\nMake authoritative determinations on component authenticity based on test data\n\nImplement corrective actions when counterfeit components are identified\n\nSupply Chain & Database Management\nMaintain approved vendor lists (AVL) and approved component lists (ACL) in PLM systems\n\nWork with procurement to reduce single-source risks\n\nTrack and manage lifetime buy inventory\n\nQuality & Compliance\nInvestigate component failures and coordinate root-cause analysis with suppliers\n\nVerify compliance with RoHS, REACH, conflict minerals, and export control regulations\n\nSupport supplier quality investigations and audits\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with design, quality, procurement, and manufacturing teams\n\nCommunicate component risks and mitigation strategies to stakeholders\n\nSupport new product introductions with component selection guidance\n\nQualifications:\nRequired:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical field\n\nExperience: 2-8+ years in component engineering, hardware design, product development, or lifecycle management\n\nTechnical Skills:\nStrong knowledge of electronic components (semiconductors, passives, connectors, electromechanical parts)\n\nProficiency with PLM systems, CAD tools, and BOM management tools\n\nFamiliarity with component databases (IHS, SiliconExpert, Z2Data)\n\nKnowledge of industry standards (IPC, MIL-STDs, JEDEC, RoHS, REACH)\n\nUnderstanding of counterfeit detection methods and standards (AS6081, AS6171, SAE G-19A)\n\nCore Competencies:\nExcellent analytical skills and attention to detail\n\nStrong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities\n\nEffective written and verbal communication with cross-functional teams\n\nAbility to make sound technical judgments under pressure\n\nDesired:\nExperience in aerospace, defense, medical, or high-reliability industries\n\nCertified Component Engineer (CCE) or similar certification\n\nSix Sigma or quality certification\n\nExperience with authorized distributor networks\n\nWorking Conditions: Office environment with occasional travel to supplier sites, test facilities, or contract manufacturers.\n-What You Can Expect:\nA culture of integrity.\nAt CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
