The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and is excited to learn the intricacies of a unique complex system, proactively apply their knowledge to develop solutions, and interact hands-on with the system.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign and implement solutions associated with large-scale industrial-level hydromechanical systems involved in testing Naval ship components\nWork effectively alongside government and contractor staff with a wide array of backgrounds\nTroubleshoot complex issues with electromechanical equipment and devices, identifying root causes and proposing effective solutions to enhance system efficiency.\nRecommend cost-effective changes in equipment design to improve reliability and safety and timeliness.\nConduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to plan and schedule repairs.\nInspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any problems.\nRepair faulty equipment and damaged structures.\nInspect and maintain plumbing systems to guarantee maximum operation.\nConsult on limitations and specifications within facility for test designs\nDesign testing appurtenances, rigs for mounting scale models in the test section\nInterpret engineering designs, plans, and diagrams.\nProvide technical solutions to mechanical problems.\nOperate large, complex machinery and test facilities such as the Large Cavitation Channel, while adhering to procedures and safety practices.\nBe prepared to work the occasional second or third shift in order to support testing activities\n Qualifications:\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering fields\nHydrodynamic focused\n3+ years of related experience with hands-on mechanical engineering in industrial, heavy manufacturing, or waterworks settings\nAbility to understand, operate, and maintain large scale test equipment\nStrong background in fluid dynamics and mechanical design\nProficiency in CAD software and FEA\nStrong communication and teamwork abilities\nFamiliarity with industrial safety standards and practices\nUS Citizenship\nAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance\nStrong analytical skills\nDesired:\nActive DoD Secret Clearance\nStrong preference for candidates who have previous experience as a machinist, welder, handyman, mechanic, or related hands-on industrial experience.\nExperience with waterworks equipment (pumps, reservoirs, pump motors)\nExperience in industrial, heavy manufacturing, or hydromechanical environments.\nPrevious DoD work experience\nStrong preference for candidates with Navy and/or NSWC experience\n-What You Can Expect:\nA culture of integrity.\nAt CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
