You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to modernize the tactical cyber landscape, reduce vulnerabilities, and support critical\nSecure Software Development\nDevelop clean, safe, and highly efficient code primarily in Rust, with supplemental modules in C, C++, or Go.\nVulnerability Mitigation\nRedesign and harden legacy software modules using memory-safe architectures to mitigate memory-corruption exploits such as buffer overflows.\nEmbedded & Tactical Systems Integration\nSupport integration of software components with custom hardware, in-vehicle data networks, and tactical C5ISR communication systems.\nTesting & Debugging\nReview, debug, and test software using automated pipelines to meet strict design requirements and validate defense performance metrics.\nLifecycle & Documentation\nContribute to requirements analysis, architecture development, and creation of technical documentation aligned with DoD software engineering standards.\nRequired Qualifications & Skills\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM discipline.\nExperience\n1-3 years of professional software development experience, or equivalent military / co-op experience.\nLanguage Proficiency\nStrong understanding of Rust fundamentals (safe/unsafe Rust, ownership & borrowing rules, concurrency).\nHands-on experience or working familiarity with C, C++, or Go.\nTechnical Environment\nProficiency with Linux environments, shell scripting, and version control using Git.\nClearance\nActive DoD Secret security clearance required and must be maintained.\nPreferred & Desired Qualifications\nFamiliarity with memory-safe coding paradigms, static analysis tools, and cryptographic implementation approaches.\nExposure to embedded systems development, hardware abstraction layers, or real-time operating systems (RTOS).\nFoundational understanding of DoD cybersecurity frameworks such as RMF and STIGs.\nDoD 8140/8570 compliance (e.g., Security+ CE).\n-What You Can Expect:\nA culture of integrity.\nAt CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
