To address inefficiencies in fragmented and aging payroll systems, it is implementing a scalable, cloud-based payroll solution that improves automation, data quality, userexperienceand compliance, with implementation for the full customer base targeted within eighteen months.\nThis position supports the core implementation call order, which covers discovery and fit-gap analysis, solution design and configuration, data migration, interface development, testing and parallel payroll validation, and cutover throughhypercare. In this role you will analyze the legacy mainframe payroll applications and data structures, and document the business rules, data definitions and interfaces required by the conversion,integrationand functional teams.\nWork is performed remotely from within the United States, with periodic on-site presence as the assignment requires.\nResponsibilities:\nPerform application and data analysis of legacy mainframe payroll systems\n\nAnalyze COBOL programs, copybooks and file structures to document system behavior and data definitions\n\nDocument business rules and processing logic implemented in legacy applications\n\nAnalyze reference table data and its effect on payroll processing\n\nDevelop data extracts from legacy data sources\n\nIdentifyactive versus obsolete programs, datastructuresand interfaces\n\nPrepare technical documentation for the conversion,integrationand functional teams\n\nSupport the conversion andinterfaceteams as the legacy source subject matter expert\n\nQualifications:\nRequired:\nMust be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain andmaintaina Public Trust clearance\nAll work is performed from within the United States and its territories, from a work location approved in advance by the customer\n\nBachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experience.Additionalexperience may be substituted for degree.\n\n7 or more yearsanalyzinglegacy mainframe systems, including reading COBOL that implements business rules andestablishingprogram behavior where documentation is absent or wrong\n\nExperience with copybook and record-structure analysis - fixed-width and positional data, PIC clauses, implied decimals, and filler accounted for explicitly\n\nExperience extracting data from a non-relational source - CA IDMS, IMS, Datacom,Adabasor VSAM, or another network, CODASYL or hierarchical database\n\nAbility to write extraction programs against a legacy source rather than relying on delivered utilities\n\nDemonstrated experience producing documentation of legacy system behavior as the deliverable\n\nDesired:\nPrior experience at a federal payroll shared service provider, or on a federal payroll or HR mainframe system\n\nFederal pay and personnel data familiarity - pay plans, personnel action processing,retirementand benefits coding\n\nJCL, DB2, CICS or Assembler, and prior work ondeliveredmainframe modernization or system replacement\n\nExperience supportingdataconversion orinterfaceteam as the source-side authority\n\nThis position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately.
