As part of the Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS), you will contribute directly to modernizing and strengthening how the DoD moves people, assets, and materiel worldwide.\nYou will work alongside experts in Planning, Procurement, Fulfillment, Financials, Application Development, Security, GRC, and Identity & Access Management, delivering solutions that empower USTRANSCOM’s global mission. This is your chance to bring innovation, precision, and passion to one of the most consequential SAP environments in the federal landscape.\nRemote but required to travel to SAFB on a quarterly basis!\nResponsibilities:\nData Services Development & Integration\nDesign, configure, and optimize SAP Data Services (BODS) ETL/ELT workflows, dataflows, and mappings across SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW, and non-SAP systems.\nTranslate complex business requirements into accurate source-to-target mappings with robust transformation logic.\nDevelop extraction routines using SAP HANA tables, extractors, RFCs, and diverse external sources including APIs, web services, flat files, and cloud platforms.\nBuild powerful data cleansing, standardization, validation, and business rule processing routines to ensure data quality excellence.\nImplement data profiling and assessment routines to uncover patterns, gaps, anomalies, and quality issues.\nMonitor, debug, and troubleshoot job executions to resolve performance challenges and eliminate bottlenecks.\nKey Competencies\nDeep expertise in SAP Data Services (BODS) architecture and advanced ETL/ELT design.\nExpert proficiency with SAP Data Services Designer, Management Console, Data Quality tools.\nStrong functional understanding of SAP S/4HANA data models and business processes across FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, HR.\nAdvanced SQL, performance tuning, and database optimization skills.\nExperience with SAP HANA pushdown optimization, integration, and modern data warehousing techniques.\nQualifications:\nRequired:\n Active DoD Secret Clearance (minimum requirement).\n3-5+ years of experience in Data Integration/Warehousing, including 3+ years dedicated to SAP Data Services development.\nStrong understanding of SAP table structures, data models, extractors, and end-to-end business processes.\nExpertise in advanced BODS transformations, high-performance ETL patterns, parallel processing, and optimization techniques.\nProven experience integrating SAP BW/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP MDG, and SAP Information Steward.\nSQL scripting, Shell scripting (Unix/Linux), and familiarity with ABAP for automation.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.\nDesired:\nPrior experience supporting USTRANSCOM (USTC) programs or transportation operations.\nDemonstrated alignment with DoD transportation doctrine, including DTR and DoD FMR requirements.\nExperience applying Clean Core principles within SAP S/4HANA environments.\nWhy This Role Matters\nAs the SAP Data Services Developer, you’ll architect and deliver high-quality, mission-focused data solutions that power critical DoD transportation operations.
