You will spend part of your time developing, debugging, and maintaining software applications while owning the full ecosystem those applications run on. This includes installation and configuration of RHEL 8 operating systems, performing cybersecurity scans and hardening (including SELinux policy work), building and maintaining utility scripts and automated build processes, and supporting the Identity Management (IdM/FreeIPA) and PKI infrastructure that underpins the environment.\nYou will apply strong Python and shell scripting skills to automate system builds, configuration management (Ansible), and operational tasks. You will also use your networking, virtualization (ESXi and KVM), and hardware knowledge to diagnose and resolve system issues. The role includes direct interaction with the customer to capture defect reports and enhancement requests and turn them into a prioritized backlog for future releases.\nResponsibilities\nRefine and enhance existing applications to meet customer and operational requirements\nDesign, develop, and maintain automation for rapid, repeatable system builds and configuration (Ansible, Python, shell)\nDevelop and maintain user and administrative documentation to satisfy contract requirements\nPeriodically travel onsite to integrate operational systems, apply updates, and support deployments\nProfile, analyze, and optimize legacy software and the supporting system stack\nConfigure, harden, and maintain RHEL 8 systems, including SELinux policies\nSupport and extend IdM/FreeIPA and PKI infrastructure\nContribute to virtualization environments (ESXi and KVM) and associated networking\nQualifications \nRequired\nBachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience\nU.S. Citizen with a minimum of a Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.\n7+ years of systems engineering or related experience\nStrong understanding of Unix/Linux systems, with solid experience on RHEL 8\nStrong Python scripting and programming skills\nProficient with Bash/shell scripting\nStrong experience with IdM or FreeIPA\nStrong understanding of PKI concepts and practical implementation\nProficient with networking concepts\nBasic-to-intermediate understanding of SELinux\nProficient with Ansible for configuration management and automation\nExperience with virtualization platforms, including ESXi and KVM\nSolid understanding of software design concepts, patterns, tools, and best practices\nBasic understanding of virtualization and hypervisor configuration\nDesired\nExperience with a popular CI/CD system (GitLab Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar)\nFamiliarity with device boot processes (BIOS, UEFI, PXE)\nAbility to code in additional languages such as Golang, TypeScript, C, or C++\nExperience with cybersecurity scanning, hardening, and secure system configuration in enclave or classified environments\n-\nWhat You Can Expect:\nA culture of integrity.\nAt CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
