The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Software Test Engineer to support our client in Chantilly, VA. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex challenges, driving quality, and collaborating with a supportive and growth minded team.
Position Overview:
As a Software Test Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate software functionality. Additionally, you will evaluate complex test specifications, analyze results, and drive corrective actions to ensure that products meet both technical and contractual requirements. Your role will involve determining optimal testing strategies for sophisticated systems, identifying product characteristics that enhance testability, and integrating customer requirements into practical system-level test solutions. This position demands a deep understanding of software development processes, testing methodologies, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software applications
- Execute manual and automated tests to verify software functionality, performance, and security
- Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking tools
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve software defects
- Perform regression testing to ensure that new changes do not adversely affect existing functionality
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of testing processes and tools
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to project planning and risk assessment
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in software testing
- Demonstrate advanced technical expertise and provide leadership in testing projects
- Act as a subject matter expert in testing methodologies and tools
- Mentor and guide junior team members
- Engage in client interactions and presentations
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in software testing, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality test results
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG)
- Experience with both manual and automated testing
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with Section 508 standards, which map directly to WCAG 2.0 Level A and Level AA Success Criteria
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with Security testing
- Experience with JIRA/MS TFS
- Active TS/SCI with Poly
Desired:
- ISTQB Certified Tester or equivalent
- Experience with JAWS
- Experience with ZAP (security testing)
- Experience with Roo Code
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
- Experience in testing web applications, mobile applications, or cloud-based services
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for test automation
- Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)

Pay Range:
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
