The Windows Systems Engineer III is primarily focused on Windows systems (servers, workstations, and laptops) administration, responds to monitoring alerts and manage incidents to resolution in a 24/7/365 environment. They will quickly identify issues impacting the enterprise, troubleshoot, resolve incidents, document for root cause analysis, complete requests, and maintain enterprise servers.\nResponsibilities:\nServe as a Technical Operations member responsible for troubleshooting and maintenance. Responsibilities include:\nManage, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows Servers, workstations, and laptops.\nWork with and manage Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, Intune, Virtual Servers, and Azure including support of AD migration of accounts and objects.\nEnsure compliance of current security policies and remediations.\nApply modern configuration management practices to endpoint management.\nProactively monitor and measure systems performance to detect trends and catch problems before users are impacted.\nRespond to systems alerts, triage, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents.\nWork closely with other support teams to ensure incident events are handled in a timely manner.\nHandle incoming technical escalations from Service Desk, Network Operations Security Center, Tier II, and other support teams. \nDocument, track, and coordinate incidents in ServiceNow.\nJoin troubleshooting bridge calls for major incidents.\nPerform patching, updates, upgrades, refreshes, and other maintenance activities.\nEnsure, manage, and restore backups and snapshots for Windows servers.\nCommunicate directly with end-users as necessary, to resolve issues and complete requests.\nAssist with postmortem related activities and support various efforts related to operational improvements.\nBased on recommendations from management, implement new and improved processes, change processes, perform new tasks, create reports, and address ad-hoc requests.\nContribute to documentation in the Knowledge Base, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), work instructions, and job aids. \nContinuously cross-train to also support other technical tasks and responsibilities.\nConduct knowledge-sharing sessions with more junior members of the team.\nPerform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required: \nAbility to obtain DoD Security Clearance\nAbility to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry On Duty (EOD)\nActive EOD preferred\nBA/BS + 7 years of applicable experience\nAny relevant Microsoft Windows administrator certification \nITIL 4 Foundation certification (not required to start but expected to attain in first six months)\nFlexibility to work MON - FRI, 6am - 2pm or 10am - 6pm\nWork on-call rotation to respond to incident escalations\nExpert troubleshooting of Windows Operating Systems (Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019 and 2022), Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, Network Issues, DNS, DHCP, Print Server, IIS, Azure\nStrong scripting and PowerShell skills\nExperience building, configuring, hardening Windows servers\nStrong experience with SCCM or Intune\nExperience using Service Now service management software (or similar tool) to document incidents and service requests \nAdvanced experience with Active Directory management & administration Desired:\nPrevious DHS or DoD experience\nThe following certifications are highly desired:\nOther hands-on Microsoft Windows administrator certifications\nCOMPTIA A+, or Network+, or Security+ \nCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)\nITIL Foundation \nLinux administration experience\nKnowledgeable of Problem Management best practice and processes\n-What You Can Expect:\nA culture of integrity.\nAt CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
