Defence is one of our key business areas, and with a new programme launching in 2027, we are looking for a talented Platform Architect to help shape the future of software, data and AI delivery capability for the Ministry of Defence.\n\nThe Role:\nAs a Platform Architect, you will join a multi-disciplinary delivery team supporting the establishment of the new project to provide our MOD customer with an enduring software, data and artificial intelligence delivery capability. Working alongside architects, engineers, security specialists, data practitioners and customer stakeholders, you will play a key role in designing and evolving the technical architecture that underpins a secure, scalable and repeatable software delivery capability. You will help define the platforms, standards, patterns and governance required to enable the development, integration, testing, assurance and deployment of software-enabled capability across the customers environments. You will be able to combine deep technical expertise with a focussed delivery mindset, ensuring platform designs support both immediate programme objectives and the long-term vision of a capability that can be sustained and evolved independently of suppliers.\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\n\nShaping the Platform Architecture\nDefine and evolve platform architectures across cloud, infrastructure, networking, security and software delivery domains.\nDesign secure, resilient and scalable platforms supporting software engineering, data engineering, AI/ML and DevSecOps workloads.\nEstablish architecture standards, patterns and reference designs that drive consistency, reuse and maintainability.\n\nEnable Modern Software Delivery\nDesign and assure CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code solutions and automated testing capabilities.\nChampion secure software supply chain practices, platform observability and operational monitoring.\nProvide the tooling, services and engineering standards that enable teams to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently.\n\nEmbed Security by Design\nEnsure platform designs align with Defence security requirements and accreditation standards.\nWork closely with security architects and assurance teams to integrate security throughout the development lifecycle.\nSupport the production of technical documentation, assurance artefacts and evidence required for platform approval.\n\nProvide Technical Leadership\nCollaborate with customers, delivery teams and senior technical leaders to shape platform roadmaps and future capability.\nProvide architectural guidance across multiple workstreams and technical disciplines.\nContribute to architecture reviews, technical governance forums and design authorities.\n\nThe Fit:\n\nWe are interested in speaking with experienced Platform Architects, Cloud Architects or Infrastructure Architects with experience designing modern cloud platforms in Defence, complex enterprise or government environments. You will have a strong understanding of security architecture and DevSecOps principles, able to balance strategic thinking with hands on delivery support. Due to the nature of the work, there will be a requirement to be based from our customer site 2-3 days per week in Blandford.\n\nDue to the industries we work in, we would prefer applicants to currently hold high level security clearance. To qualify for this, you must be a British citizen and have lived permanently in the UK for the last 5 years.\n\nWhy work for us?\nYou'll be joining a business that combines the agility, culture and autonomy of a specialist consultancy with the backing and stability of a global technology organisation. Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to help build something significant from the ground up, delivering technology that genuinely matters. The Platform Architect role is an excellent opportunity, and CACI reward their staff well with a competitive salary and impressive benefits package which includes:\nFlexi-time: 37.5 hour weeks to structure how you want.\nL&D: Budget for conferences, training courses and other materials.\nSocial: Fantastic culture with monthly social events.\nFuture You: Matched pension and health care package.\n\nWe offer a great L&D package including 5 days external training, a career coach and guilds to share innovation and learning. We also offer self-directed career progression, that fosters opportunities for success for us and our business.\n\nIf you're passionate about cloud platforms, DevSecOps and secure software delivery, and want to help shape the next generation of Defence technology capability, we'd love to hear from you.\n\nEqual Opportunities:\n\nCACI is proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
