Job Overview:
Cadence’s Cloud Business Development team is hiring for a Technical Business Development / Cloud Pre-sales / Product Marketing Director focused on North America region. This exciting role requires a passionate go-getter and doer who can work collaboratively with multiple cross-functional teams from product definition to go-to-market execution within a start-up like environment. The role is based in San Jose. The primary responsibilities of this role include:
Developing Cadence Cloud business by supporting customer engagements through strong technical acumen and by developing a pipeline of opportunities for cloud by working collaboratively with local field, sales, IT and R&D teams
Driving pre-sales/technical sales engagements for all cloud opportunities
Guiding the development of next generation cloud capabilities for EDA workflows with strong product management skills
Driving cloud-based products, roadmaps and business models
Evangelization of AI-driven EDA tools by leveraging hands-on experience building EDA flows for chip design
Leveraging GenAI tools such as Co-pilot and other tools, improve customer interactions and technical pre-sales support
Minimum Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in technical sales/pre-sales/application engineering/technical product management in Systems/PLM/EDA domains
Strong knowledge of computational mechanics tools in the EDA and/or PLM domains
Strong understanding of the EDA ecosystem
10+ years of experience in developing and executing Go-to-market plans for new technologies and disruptive SaaS platform products
10+ years of experience in program/product management, and operationalization of new cloud-based projects
Strong technical and business knowledge of SaaS technologies, cloud computing and cloud services in mechanical and electronic design segments
Experience developing business models for cloud computing in the engineering domain
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully influence customers and peers at an executive level
Strong experience working with key decision makers and customers, ecosystem partners, sales, engineering and IT to drive success in the marketplace
Proven track record of driving the end-to-end development of Cloud based products and delivering to customers
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of tools & flows for PCB design, Multiphysics modeling and simulation, end-to-end mechanical and electronic design industry processes
MBA (Masters in Business Administration) will be a plus
Experience working with High-Tech industry customers from start-ups to enterprise
Ability to work effectively with diverse teams of internal and external partners and customers
Ability to synthesize unstructured data and present recommendations successfully to senior management
Ability to translate customer and industry requirements and trends into product roadmaps, solutions, and business growth
Experience with AI-driven customer engagement tools: Hands-on experience leveraging AI-powered customer engagement solutions (such as generative AI chatbots, conversational AI agents, or AI-driven customer support platforms) to improve customer interactions and technical pre-sales support. Familiarity with using AI to deliver hyper-personalized, proactive customer experiences is a strong plus.
Expertise in AI-enhanced cloud solutions: Experience working with cloud platforms or products that integrate AI/ML capabilities (e.g. cloud services enhanced by generative AI or analytics). Candidates with a track record of deploying or promoting AI-enhanced cloud solutions - for instance, utilizing generative AI features in SaaS or cloud offerings to achieve superior performance or efficiency - will have an advantage
The annual salary range for California is $161,000 to $299,000. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
