Do you enjoy working at the intersection of electronics, software and data? If so, we'd love to hear from you.\nAt Cadence, we believe great candidates come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. You do not need to be an AI expert or already have experience with semiconductor test equipment to apply. We are looking for motivated and curious individuals who are eager to learn and interested in exploring how AI can improve the way silicon devices are tested and debugged.\nDuring this internship, you will work with the ATE Test team to investigate how AI and automation can improve test development, debugging and engineering workflows. You will work with real semiconductor test methods and results, exploring opportunities to make test development more efficient and help engineers identify issues faster.\nYou will be supported by experienced test engineers and will gain hands-on exposure to real post-silicon test and validation activities.\nWhat You Will Do\nExplore how AI can improve ATE test development and debug workflows.\nAnalyse existing test methods, test programs, logs and results to identify opportunities for automation.\nDevelop Python-based tools and AI prototypes to assist engineers during test development and debugging.\nInvestigate methods to automatically detect anomalies or unexpected behaviour in test results.\nExplore AI-assisted approaches for root cause analysis and troubleshooting.\nImprove the way test information, debug data and results are presented to engineers.\nCollaborate with test engineers to validate proposed solutions on real engineering use cases.\nExpected Deliverables\nBy the end of the internship, you will:\nDevelop and demonstrate at least one AI-assisted test or debug prototype.\nValidate the proposed approach using real semiconductor test cases.\nDemonstrate how the solution can simplify or accelerate an existing engineering workflow.\nDocument the methodology, implementation, results and recommendations.\nPresent your work to the engineering team.\nSuccess Criteria\nSuccess will be measured by the solution's ability to provide value in one or more of the following areas:\nReduced manual effort during test development or debug.\nFaster identification of test or silicon issues.\nImproved automation of repetitive engineering activities.\nMore efficient analysis of test logs and results.\nImproved usability and accessibility of engineering information.\nPositive feedback from test engineers using the prototype.\nPreferred Qualifications\nEngineering background in electronics, microelectronics, embedded systems, computer science or a related field.\nBasic programming skills, with Python being a plus.\nInterest in Artificial Intelligence and data-driven engineering.\nStrong curiosity and willingness to learn.\nProblem-solving mindset and attention to detail.\nGood communication and teamwork skills.\nNice to Have\nExposure to semiconductor testing or validation.\nBasic knowledge of digital or analogue electronics.\nExperience with Python, data analysis or software development.\nInterest in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and silicon validation.\nWhat Matters Most\nCuriosity, enthusiasm and a desire to learn.
