You’ll spend your time applying updates, supporting integrations and resolving issues, rather than designing new architecture. It’s a practical, service-oriented role for someone who enjoys keeping systems healthy and being the person other teams can rely on.\nJob Responsibilities:\nMaintain and update software components and third-party dependencies, applying upgrades, patches and security fixes.\nTroubleshoot and support integrations between systems and services, responding to requests from engineering teams.\nEvolve tooling that began in a single team into shared, reusable tooling once it shows broad cross-team value.\nInvestigate and resolve issues, and validate that updates don’t break existing functionality.\nMaintain and improve build, test and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.\nRun containerised services on cloud infrastructure and keep them running reliably.\nPackage, version and document internal tooling so other engineers can adopt it easily.\nMonitor system health and escalate recurring issues that need broader attention.\nJob Qualifications:\nBS/MS in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.\nProficiency in Python and TypeScript.\nWorking knowledge of Docker/containerisation and cloud deployment.\nExperience maintaining CI/CD pipelines, e.g. GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar.\nFamiliarity with using and maintaining open-source software.\nAbility to work across an existing codebase to diagnose issues, apply updates and support integrations.\nA responsive, service-oriented approach to requests from engineering teams, with a focus on keeping systems reliable.\nAdditional Skills/Preferences:\nExperience with C++.\nExperience deploying to Azure.\nContributions to open-source software (OSS) projects.\nExperience publishing internal packages.\nInterest in developer tooling and platform reliability.\n\nAdditional Information:\nYou’ll work with the engineering teams across the business who use the tools, services and integrations you maintain.\nTools include open-source software, containerisation and CI/CD.\nCheck what we can offer you:\nCompetitive salary\n25 days holiday per year\nPrivate Medical and Dental plans, Income Protection and Life Insurance\nGroup Personal Pension Plan\nCycle to work scheme and gym subsidy\n5 days paid time to volunteer to give back to our communities\nEmployee Stock Purchase Plan\nThe opportunity to work for a Great Place to Work© & Fortune 100 organization\n\nCadence is committed to equal employment opportunity and employment equity throughout all levels of the organization.
