You’ll work on impactful projects and turn ideas into reality while enjoying growth opportunities, teamwork, and a balanced work-life.\nIn this role, the Financial Analyst will have direct responsibility over a portfolio of projects, with a primary focus on financial analysis, reporting and project accounting activities. The incumbent will support project financial management, including forecasting, revenue recognition, and performance analysis.\nDescription\nWork in collaboration with Program Management to support project financial management, including assessing Estimate at Completion (EAC) requirements and developing project financial forecasts. \nSupport the application of IFRS, with a particular focus on IFRS 15, in the context of customer contracts. \nPrepare and review financial information for the assigned project portfolio on a periodic basis (monthly, quarterly and annual). \nPrepare analysis of project performance and perform variance analysis on a periodic basis, including but not limited to month-end, forecasts, and budgets. \nPerform scenario assessments, including the evaluation of EAC changes and related financial impacts, to support project financial planning and performance monitoring. \nAssist in initiatives including, but not limited to, reporting enhancement, data integrity, and process improvements within the accounting environment. \nSupport internal and external audit activities. \nSupport month-end close and forecasting activities related to the assigned project portfolio. \nParticipate in business process troubleshooting and enhancement initiatives (e.g. Planisware, Oracle, Power BI) where appropriate. \nMinimum Qualifications\nUniversity degree in accounting or finance. \nMinimum 3 to 5 years of financial analysis and reporting experience. \nIn depth knowledge of accounting principles, public company financial reporting & practices experience. \nProven management accounting skills and experience. \nExperience in project or contract-based accounting environments. \nProven experience in preparing complex business models. \nGood knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Visio). \nFluency in English and French. \nPreferred Qualifications\nProfessional accounting designation (CA, CPA). \nExperience in project accounting or contract-based accounting environments. \nKnowledge of costing principles and margin analysis within a project or contract-based environment. \nExperience with long-term contracts accounted for using the percentage of completion revenue recognition methodology. \nExperience supporting forecasting processes. \nAble to work flexible hours. \nKnowledge and experience with Oracle and Hyperion (Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Enterprise). \nExposure to corporate consolidation processes. \nExcellent analytical, conceptual thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills. \nAble to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment requiring continuous process improvement. \nAbility to manage stress and work well under pressure, e.g. meeting deadlines whilst delivering a high standard of work. \nAbility to learn about the financial requirements of new/different countries. \nAble to work within a team environment and contribute towards team objectives and meeting all required deadlines. \nAble to assimilate ad-hoc and diverse information, create/provide financial models and/or analysis and present it to management successfully. \nProven ability to analyse project financial performance, including identification and assessment of risks and opportunities. \nBenefits\nGroup Insurance \nTelemedicine Employee and Family Assistance Program \nEmployee Stock Purchase Plan \nGroup RRSP \nCAE Pension Plan/Defined Benefit Plan \nSabbatical Leave \nFlex Time \nEnhanced Parental Leave \nAbout CAE\nAt CAE, our mission is clear: to help make the world a safer place.
