Join a purpose-driven organisation where bold ideas are encouraged, collaboration drives progress, and your growth fuels our shared success.\nRole Overview\nWe are seeking an experienced Group Lead, ICT Training Systems to lead a team supporting critical Defence training environments across Australia.\nThis role combines people leadership with strong technical oversight. You'll lead a team of engineers and ICT professionals responsible for delivering and maintaining complex training systems while partnering with internal stakeholders to develop technical solutions, support major projects, and contribute to future business opportunities.\nSuccess in this role requires someone who has built credibility through hands-on ICT leadership, understands how to lead technical teams, and can effectively balance operational delivery with strategic objectives.\nDescription\nLead, mentor and develop a team of ICT professionals supporting Defence training systems and services.\nProvide technical leadership and guidance across systems administration, ICT infrastructure and support services.\nEnsure successful delivery of operational support, sustainment activities and ongoing system improvements.\nWork closely with engineering, project and business leaders to develop technical solutions and support customer requirements.\nSupport bid and proposal activities by contributing technical expertise, solution development and resource planning.\nManage subcontractor and supplier relationships to ensure delivery outcomes and service quality expectations are achieved.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives, risk management activities and operational excellence across the team.\nMinimum Qualifications\nDemonstrated experience leading technical engineering, ICT or systems administration teams.\nStrong understanding of ICT infrastructure, system administration and support environments.\nExperience managing technical resources, contractors and competing operational priorities.\nAbility to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nExperience contributing to technical solution development, project delivery or bid activities.\nStrong communication, leadership and team development capabilities.\nAustralian Citizenship.\nAbility to work onsite across Homebush and HMAS Watson locations.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working within Defence or Defence industry environments.\nExperience supporting training, simulation, mission or operational systems.\nUnderstanding of Defence security, governance and accreditation requirements.\nExperience managing complex ICT environments supporting critical operations.\nRelevant tertiary qualifications or industry certifications.\nLocation\nHomebush, NSW and HMAS Watson, NSW.\nThis role requires regular onsite attendance, typically three days per week at HMAS Watson and one day per week at Homebush.\nSome travel may be required based on operational and project requirements.\nBenefits\nOpportunity to make a meaningful contribution to Australian Defence capability.\nLeadership opportunity managing a highly skilled technical team.\nExposure to advanced Defence training and simulation technologies.\nExciting career paths in a truly global business.\nAccess to a generous ADF Reserve Service Policy.\nWellness subsidy.\nGenerous Parental Leave.\nEmployee Share Scheme.\nFitness Passport.\nInsurance Cover.\n...and more.\nSecurity Requirements\nAs the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
