Globally recognized for delivering cutting-edge systems, you’ll tackle complex challenges, collaborate across functions, and lead advancements that shape our industry. Supported by a culture of flexibility, growth, and innovation, join us to create a lasting legacy in safety and simulation.Description\nAs a Software Developer, you will develop real-time simulation software used in military aircraft system integration laboratories. These engineering simulators reproduce aircraft systems and functions so that teams can test and validate software before it is installed on an aircraft. The emphasis is on aircraft controls and system behaviour rather than visual simulation.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop object-oriented software components, primarily in C++, to reproduce aircraft behaviour in real time.\nSimulate the digital and analog signals associated with the aircraft’s avionics systems.\nParticipate in all phases of software development, including problem analysis, requirements definition, design, implementation, informal testing, troubleshooting, and integration.\nSupport the software’s user community.\nWork with several simulation models used for a single aircraft and adapt your approach to different systems and technical requirements.\nCollaborate within a multidisciplinary team of approximately 10 employees, including a subgroup of approximately four employees that works closely with other subgroups.\nWork autonomously while collaborating regularly with software, systems, avionics, and other engineering groups.\nValid driver’s license, or ability to commute to the Mirabel offices\nThis is a full-time, Monday-Friday hybrid working arrangement, with an expected presence of two to three days per week at the Mirabel office and occasional work from the Saint-Laurent office. Core working hours are from 9:30AM - 3:30PM.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.\nUp to three years of software development experience.\nKnowledge of C++ and C#.\nAbility to learn aircraft systems, simulation models, and new technical concepts quickly.\nAbility to work autonomously, manage changing technical requirements, and demonstrate flexibility across multiple simulation models.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.\nAbility to communicate orally and in writing about technical subjects in English or French.\nAbility to meet the requirements of Canada’s Controlled Goods Program and, in certain cases, applicable International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.\nEligibility to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Reliability Status and a Level II Secret security clearance.\nPreferred Qualifications\nKnowledge of Rust or Java.\nKnowledge of FPGA development or technologies.\nKnowledge of aeronautics, avionics, or aircraft systems.\nExperience developing real-time simulation software.\nDemonstrated interest in aviation.\nBenefits\nWe’ve designed flexible policies to promote well-being and growth, based on role-specific eligibility and requirements:\nHybrid work arrangement combining office-based and remote work.\nFlexible working hours.\nCareer development and internal mobility opportunities within CAE.\nMentoring and access to the CAE Career Track program.\nCollaborative and positive work environment.\nOpportunity to be part of a small professional community within a large organization.\nWork-life balance.\nComprehensive CAE benefits program, including health insurance, an employee stock purchase plan, a pension plan, and a physical activity program.\nAbout CAE\nAt CAE, our mission is clear: to help make the world a safer place. For nearly 80 years, we’ve driven innovation in simulation, training, and mission readiness to support critical operations worldwide. By leveraging advanced technologies, we empower our customers to operate smarter, faster, and more sustainably. Join a purpose-driven organization where bold ideas are encouraged, collaboration drives progress, and your growth fuels our shared success.\nPosition Type\nRegularEqual Opportunity & Accommodations\nCAE is committed to providing equal opportunities to all applicants, regardless of race, nationality, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, veteran status, age, or other characteristics protected by law.
