Reporting to the Senior Manager Engineering - IPAC, you'll be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution and delivery of software and hardware engineering activities across multiple projects while ensuring quality, schedule and cost objectives are achieved.\nThis is an exciting leadership opportunity to manage a team of approximately 16 engineers, influence the delivery of mission-critical defence capabilities, and work closely with engineering, program and business leaders across Australia and internationally. You will also play a key role in shaping engineering capability and aligning regional outcomes with CAE's global engineering organisation.\nDescription\nIn this role, I will:\nLead, mentor and develop a team of software and hardware engineers.\nPlan, monitor and oversee software and hardware activities across projects, services and bids.\nEnsure engineering solutions align with system architecture, engineering standards and quality requirements.\nPartner with engineering, project and business stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.\nManage delivery risks, team performance and continuous improvement initiatives.\nSupport alignment with CAE's global engineering organisation and engineering best practices.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n8+ years of relevant engineering experience.\nPrevious leadership experience managing or leading technical teams.\nExperience within software engineering, hardware engineering or complex systems development environments.\nStrong communication, stakeholder engagement and people leadership skills.\nExperience managing resources, delivery schedules, budgets and risk.\nAbility to work effectively within complex engineering and project environments.\nAustralian Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.\nAbility to work from our Homebush, NSW site.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience within Defence, Aerospace, Simulation or other highly regulated industries.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary software and hardware engineering teams.\nKnowledge of complex simulation systems and software development practices.\nEngineers Australia membership.\nExperience working across geographically dispersed engineering teams.\nLocation\nHomebush, NSW.\nThis role may involve occasional domestic and international travel and collaborative engagement with teams across Australia, New Zealand, Brunei, Canada and the United States.\nBenefits\nOpportunity to make a significant impact on Australian defence and security.\nExciting career pathways within a global technology and defence organisation.\nAccess to a generous ADF Reserve Service Policy.\nWellness subsidy.\nGenerous parental leave.\nEmployee Share Scheme.\nFitness Passport.\nInsurance cover.\nAnd more.\n\nSecurity Requirements\nAs the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible to obtain a Defence Security Clearance to work in this role.
