Description
CAE is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Instructor to support the MQ-9B SkyGuardian Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) program. This program supports the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and provides an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of maintenance training on a leading aviation platform. The successful candidate will deliver maintenance training to RCAF personnel at the Air Maintenance Detachment East (AMDet(E)) in Greenwood, Nova Scotia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver classroom and practical maintenance instruction on the MQ-9B SkyGuardian RPAS in accordance with approved training plans, training objectives, and applicable standards.
- Support the creation, review, and continuous improvement of instructional materials, lesson plans, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and training developers to ensure course content aligns with operational requirements and technical standards.
- Assess trainee performance through practical and theoretical evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support learning objectives.
- Maintain knowledge of MQ-9B system updates, aviation technologies, and instructional best practices.
- Comply with applicable technical, safety, and instructional requirements, including CAE and RCAF policies and procedures.
- Foster a professional learning environment that promotes engagement, collaboration, and knowledge development.
- Support training-related scheduling, logistics, and administrative activities at AMDet(E) in Greenwood, Nova Scotia.
Minimum Qualifications
- Transport Canada-approved Aviation Technician Aircraft Maintenance or Avionics Maintenance Diploma, or Canadian Forces Aviation (AVN) Technician or Avionics (AVS) Technician qualification.
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) Licence with an M1, M2, or E rating, or Canadian Forces Journeyman Aviation (AVN) Technician or Avionics (AVS) Technician qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years of aircraft maintenance instructional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of first-line and second-line aircraft maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Eligibility to work in Canada as a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a valid work permit.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods Clearance and NATO Secret security clearance.
- Ability to perform instructional duties in both live and synthetic training environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering aircraft maintenance instruction within the RCAF environment.
- Formal training in instructional techniques or adult learning methodologies.
- Experience with AWS and WLC systems.
- Experience supporting unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations or maintenance.
- Turboprop aircraft maintenance experience.
