Reporting to the CMLU Group Leader, this role supports the reliability, readiness, and continuous improvement of advanced flight simulation training devices supporting the CH149 Cormorant Mid-Life Upgrade (CMLU) program. The position primarily supports the CMLU program and may also support the CC295 Fixed Wing Search and Rescue (FWSAR) program based on operational requirements.\nKey responsibilities include:\nLead assigned maintenance shifts and support the coordination of daily maintenance activities.\nProvide technical leadership, mentorship, and on-the-job training to Simulator Technicians I and II.\nSupport the development and qualification of junior technicians through skills development and knowledge transfer activities.\nProvide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex maintenance and system issues.\nSupport the development and continuous improvement of maintenance practices, troubleshooting procedures, and operational processes.\nCoordinate maintenance priorities with the CMLU Integration Specialist, Simulator Operations Specialist, and Logistics Coordinator to support simulator availability and operational readiness.\nPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on simulators and associated systems.\nDiagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, electrical, electronic, mechanical, and avionics-related simulator faults.\nLead Qualification Test Guide (QTG) testing activities and evaluate results.\nMaintain simulator readiness and availability in support of training delivery requirements.\nUse the Training Centre Maintenance System (TCMS) to plan, document, track, and report maintenance activities.\nSupport engineering modifications, upgrades, and software enhancements.\nLead or support technical improvement projects.\nPerform advanced troubleshooting and fault isolation on simulator systems and associated equipment.\nRead and interpret electrical, electronic, and mechanical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.\nSupport logistics activities, including receipt of parts, repairs, testing, and validation activities.\nProvide responsive and professional customer support.\nMinimum Qualifications\nMinimum three (3) years of direct simulator maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant operational experience.\nDemonstrated experience performing advanced troubleshooting and fault isolation on complex technical systems.\nAbility to read and interpret electrical, electronic, and mechanical schematics and technical documentation.\nProficiency with software diagnostics and troubleshooting tools.\nProficiency in soldering and circuit board repair.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills in English.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.\nEligible to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods Program registration.\nEligible to obtain and maintain a NATO Secret security clearance.\nAbility to work rotating schedules, extended shifts, and occasional weekends as operational requirements dictate.\nAbility to climb ladders and access elevated work areas.\nAbility to work in confined spaces and varied working positions.\nAbility to stand, walk, and perform maintenance activities for extended periods.\nAbility to lift and move objects weighing up to 30 lbs.\nAbility to perform repetitive hand and finger movements associated with technical maintenance activities.\nPreferred Qualifications\nDiploma, certificate, military occupation qualification, or degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Avionics, Aerospace Engineering Technology, Aircraft Maintenance, or a related discipline.\nExperience supporting CAE simulator systems or equivalent flight simulation devices.\nExperience leading maintenance activities or coordinating technical teams.\nExperience mentoring and coaching technical personnel.\nAdvanced experience conducting simulator qualification or acceptance testing.\nExperience supporting engineering modifications, upgrades, or software enhancements.\nKnowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.\nExperience supporting military aviation training systems or operations.\nBenefits\nWe have designed programs and policies that support employee well-being, professional growth, and work-life balance.\nPlans and Programs\nComprehensive group insurance program\nDefined Benefit Pension Plan\nGroup Registered Retirement Savings Plan (Group RRSP)\nEmployee Share Purchase Plan\nTelemedicine services\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\nEnhanced parental leave benefits\nBase Pay Range\nOur total rewards package includes base pay and benefits, with final compensation determined by experience, skill, location, and internal equity.\n$68,500 - $102,700CAD\nAbout CAE\nAt CAE, our mission is clear: to help make the world a safer place.
