You will serve as a technical authority for submarine engineering disciplines, including propulsion, power generation and distribution, hotel services, auxiliary systems, atmosphere control, trim and buoyancy, damage control, weapons, sensors, and platform survivability.\nYou will contribute to the analysis, design, development, testing, and validation of training solutions that prepare submariners to safely and effectively operate, monitor, diagnose, and recover submarine systems. You will also support scenario design, simulation fidelity requirements, data-driven performance measurement, and instructor development for engineering and technical occupation training delivered ashore and at sea.\nAs part of the Naval Training Support Team, your primary focus will be supporting the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP).\nKey responsibilities include:\nProvide submarine operational and technical expertise to the TSI naval team during the development of naval training solutions.\nProvide expert naval advice to teams conducting submarine Crewing and Occupational Roles Analysis (CORA), Training Needs Analysis (TNA), and Training Media Analysis (TMA).\nLead systems task analysis and training architecture activities for operational engineering roles, including normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures.\nDefine simulation requirements and scenarios for weapons, sensors, and platform systems.\nPrepare, plan, and execute naval training system solutions.\nRecommend training solutions for new RCN projects.\nApply knowledge of the RCN to support the Integrated Training Solution Lead in developing complex submarine training solutions.\nApply knowledge of the RCN Future Naval Training Strategy (FNTS) and CONOPS to help align training solutions with operational requirements.\nConduct trade studies to identify appropriate training solutions from CAE and supplier offerings.\nResearch maritime industry developments and emerging technologies that could support maintenance training solutions.\nArticulate training solution features and benefits in proposals in collaboration with proposal development teams.\nCreate and maintain training and test procedures, scenarios, and lesson plans.\nTest training systems to verify that design, training, and project requirements have been met within budget and schedule constraints.\nIdentify training system defects and actively participate in their resolution during project execution.\nSupport Naval Business Development teams by providing technical input to potential customers, as required, and assisting with estimates for bids and proposals.\nMinimum Qualifications\nExtensive experience within the Royal Canadian Navy submarine service or a similar national naval submarine service.\nDemonstrated knowledge of submarine systems and/or experience in naval instructor assignments.\nStrong technical knowledge applicable to submarine operations, engineering, maintenance, or training.\nKnowledge of the Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES) or a similar Systems Approach to Training (SAT).\nKnowledge of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Military Employment Structure and Framework as it applies to training development and execution strategies.\nKnowledge of modern training techniques and technologies, including e-learning, simulation, virtual or augmented reality, and synthetic environments.\nStrong presentation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.\nAbility to use Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Visio.\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, both on-site and remotely.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nAbility to work effectively under tight deadlines.\nAbility to meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Level II (NATO SECRET) security clearance, and ITAR requirements.\nAbility to work in Canada as a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or individual with a valid work permit.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience planning and conducting maintenance of submarine systems as a Systems Engineer or Technician.\nExperience planning and executing naval training, operations, or maintenance at sea or within organizations such as the Naval Engineering and Test Establishment, Director General Maritime Engineering Planning and Maintenance, or a Fleet Maintenance Facility.\nDemonstrated naval leadership skills.\nKnowledge and experience applying maritime condition-based maintenance.\nExperience conducting training needs analysis.\nExperience delivering individual operator or maintainer training.\nKnowledge of submarine systems and associated naval training, testing, and student evaluation.\nBenefits\nWe’ve designed flexible policies to promote well-being and growth, based on role-specific eligibility and requirements:\nFlexible Group Benefits\nPension plan\nEmployee stock purchase plan\nComprehensive health and wellness programs\nSupportive team and collaborative corporate culture\nAbout CAE\nAt CAE, our mission is clear: to help make the world a safer place.
