Operating within a mission-critical setting, you'll play a key role in ensuring the availability, performance and security of systems that support training and operational readiness outcomes.\nWorking closely with ICT, Cyber Security and operational stakeholders, you'll be responsible for maintaining secure and reliable infrastructure, resolving complex technical issues and contributing to the ongoing improvement of critical Defence systems.\nDescription\nAs a Systems Administrator, I will:\nManage and maintain Windows and Linux server environments to ensure reliability, availability and performance.\nMonitor system health, identify issues and troubleshoot complex infrastructure and network problems.\nAdminister user accounts, permissions and access controls in line with security requirements.\nPerform patching, system updates and hardening activities to maintain compliance and security standards.\nSupport network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls and virtualised environments.\nMaintain technical documentation, provide end-user support and contribute to system improvement initiatives.\nMinimum Qualifications\nAustralian Citizenship.\nCurrent NV2 Defence Security Clearance or ability to maintain an existing clearance.\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.\nMinimum 5 years' experience as a Systems Administrator.\nExperience administering Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.\nStrong understanding of network infrastructure, including switches, routers and firewalls.\nExperience with system monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.\nKnowledge of cybersecurity principles, system hardening and patch management practices.\nExperience with backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes.\nAbility to work from our Homebush, NSW office in a secure environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMicrosoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or equivalent Microsoft certifications.\nCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or similar networking certification.\nExperience with VMware, Hyper-V or other virtualisation technologies.\nExperience operating within Defence, Government or highly regulated environments.\nFamiliarity with Defence ICT security frameworks and compliance requirements.\nExperience supporting mission-critical systems and operational environments.\nLocation\nHomebush, NSW\nThis role is primarily office-based due to the secure nature of the environment and systems being supported.\nBenefits\nOpportunity to make a meaningful impact on Australian Defence capability.\nExciting career pathways within a truly global technology and training organisation.\nAccess to a generous ADF Reserve Service Policy.\nWellness subsidy.\nGenerous parental leave.\nEmployee Share Scheme.\nFitness Passport.\nInsurance cover.\nOngoing professional development and certification support.\nAnd much more.\nSecurity Requirements\nAs the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must hold and maintain an NV2 Defence Security Clearance to work in this role.
